About this deal

The monitor features an IPS panel with a 250-nit peak brightness, a 1,000:1 static contrast ratio, 178-degree viewing angles, and 8-bit color depth. It’s a slightly improved panel than the one used in the Dell P2417H, which is the previous model of the monitor. For the same price, you could get a much better 144Hz gaming monitor,a cheaper 24″ 1080p IPS display for everyday work or a more color-accurate display for content creation. Due to different video formats (aspect ratio) of DVDs and videos, the monitor may display in screen.

To learn how to setup any other stand with a monitor, see the respective stand setup guide for setup instructions. Ergonomics No POST - Your computer is not showing any indication of activity, the screen might be blank and will not display the Dell logo during start-up. As a monitor for typical business use, the Dell 24 Monitor (P2419H) provides good ergonomics, a small footprint, and a wide selection of ports. Its 1080p resolution is the standard for a low-cost monitor and should suffice unless you're doing a lot of photo editing. Color accuracy is so-so, and between the panel's modest resolution and low contrast ratio, colors didn't really pop in video or low-impact gaming. The OSD (On-Screen Display) menu consists of standard adjustments such as brightness/contrast, color settings, including hue/saturation, and input source selection, but there are no gamma presets.Where you put your monitor is almost as important as what model you buy. The monitor should be directly in front of you, at an arm’s length away (between 20-40 inches from your eyes), with the top edge of the screen at eye level when you’re sitting comfortably. You may need to adjust your chair height or the height of the monitor to achieve this. Connecting your monitor to the PC Use the buttons at the bottom of the monitor to access the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu of the monitor. To access the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu, press Button 3 ( Figure 1) at the bottom of the monitor. Your Dell P2419H monitor has a built-in diagnostic tool that helps to determine if the screen abnormality you are experiencing is a problem with the monitor or with the video card on your computer. The monitor's viewing angles, from both the side and above, are wide, typical of an IPS panel, with no discernible dimming or color shift, even at extreme angles.

Its versatile connectivity and ergonomic options, as well as the ultra-thin design, are a nice addition though arguably not enough to justify the high price. Specifications Screen Size The Dell P2419H 1080p monitor is also available with a USB-C port that has DisplayPort Alternate Mode and Power Delivery up to 60W – the Dell P2419HC. Conclusion Ensuring that your Dell monitor is setup properly - assembling the monitor stand and setting up the monitor ergonomically, connecting the cables and organizing them, will only help make the viewing experience the best it possibly can be. Attaching the stand Built-In Self Test - The Dell P2419H monitor has a built-in self test that helps you identify if the screen abnormality is with the monitor or the video card (GPU) on your computer. When you notice screen abnormalities like distortion, clarity, horizontal or vertical lines, color fade etc., it is always a good practice to isolate the monitor by running the Built-In Diagnostics.Typical gray-to-gray pixel response is 8 milliseconds, though it can be as fast as 5 milliseconds. Input lag—as measured with a Leo Bodnar Lag Tester—came in at a very good 10 milliseconds, just a tad longer than the BenQ SW2700PT, which remains our leader with a 9.5-millisecond input lag. Although the P2419H isn't built for gaming, it did a passable job in running Rise of the Tomb Raider and its benchmark sequence, with no unusual artifacts. That said, contrast could have been better, and colors didn't pop like they often do on true gaming monitors. Since 2004, I have worked on PCMag’s hardware team, covering at various times printers, scanners, projectors, storage, and monitors. I currently focus my testing efforts on 3D printers, pro and productivity displays, and drives and SSDs of all sorts. The main menu lets you control functions such as brightness and contrast (using sliders controlled by arrow buttons), input source, color, and aspect ratio. Another menu lets you access preset modes, including Standard, ComfortView, Movie, Game, Warm, Cool, and Custom Color. The last mode allows you to set your own red, blue, and green levels with sliders. To navigate the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu, use the buttons on the monitor. The monitor control buttons are usually on the right side , either on the side, front or bottom of the monitor. To access the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu, press Button 3 on the monitor.

Wireless USB peripherals responding slowly or only working as the distance between itself and its receiver decreasesOver the years, I have reviewed iPad and iPhone science apps, plus the occasional camera, laptop, keyboard, and mouse. I've also written a host of articles about astronomy, space science, travel photography, and astrophotography for PCMag and its past and present sibling publications (among them, Mashable and ExtremeTech), as well as for the PCMag Digital Edition. Change the input color format to PC RGB or YPbPr in the Color Settings On-Screen Display Menu (OSD). It is always essential to isolate the monitor while troubleshooting your computer for the following scenarios:

The design and connectivity of theDell P2419H are its main selling points since everything else we’ve discussed so far is available in much cheaper models.

This will eliminate ghosting and trailing of moving objects in video games, but since the monitor is limited to 60Hz, we doubt it will be of interest to gamers anyway.
