Gregorio Velasco has been making his very own mezcal the traditional way in the tiny village of San Luis Del Rio since he was young. Today, the legendary mezcalero continues his craft in partnership with Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston of Breaking Bad fame. Made using espadin agave, the piñas from the plants are cooked in earthen pits to release their sugars before being crushed using a tahona wheel. After fermenting for seven to 10 days, Dos Hombres mezcal is distilled in copper stills. The brand is made in the village of San Luis del Rio, Oaxaca, by third-generation mezcal maker, Gregorio Velasco. Dos Hombres Tobala is a 25-year-old artisanal mezcal that is currently sold out, yet two bottles are being signed and re-released through shopping channel Spirit’s Network on 7 September.
