It is safe for the user and non-corrosive to steel. It does not harm brass, copper, aluminum, gold, lead, titanium, steel, cast iron, chrome solder points, vinyl, plastic, rubber, silicone, glass, cork, or wood. EVAPO-RUST® can be used over and over until it absolutely stops working. On average, one gallon de-rusts up to 300 pounds of light to moderately rusted steel. Items that are obviously damaged should be returned to base for inspection, report and rectification. Aside from Evapo-Rust, you’ll need a few other tools and items to perform the removal safely. First off, you’ll require a container with a lid. For large pieces of metal, I recommend transparent modular plastic bins, since they are durable and you can seal them shut. But if you plan on removing rust from small items such as nuts and bolts, everyday plastic kitchen containers will do just fine.

interesting, thanks for the write up. Now that you've got it that far, I would simply press the sleeve of, remove the rings and then gently tap the jars down into the body. Once you have them all down you can tap them out in turn. Electrolysis won't help much as it's line of sight. Now, the product CAN remove rust in cold weather, but the process will be a lot slower than usual. Moreover, if the plastic container with the metal item is out in the cold, it doesn’t speed up the process if you move it to a warm space. It’ll still take time to warm up, making the removal slower. Evaporust is the only thing I use to strip and clean rust on my antique tools. It leaves the jappaning completely intact while getting rid of the heaviest rust. Definitely an 11 out of 10. Stephen Ellis If the result isn't successful, try making it once more. In this way you'll get more effectiveness. But don't try to make it 100 % clean with the liquid, just remove the rust - that's all. This really isn't cost effective to be used on large parts, but for small items it works quite well. Leave the item to soak for a few hours, then under running water scrub the rust off with a wire brush. The surface will be left with a matte grey finish that's very easily polished with scotchbrite.

Since Evapo-Rust® is a highly effective rust remover, it stimulates the carbon migration process. Evapo-Rust®is not alone in creating the carbon migration effect. Other rust removal treatments will also result in carbon migration and a darkening of the metal. The primary difference between Evapo-Rust® and the acid based treatments is that Evapo-Rust® will not harm or weaken the metal. Unlike other treatments, Evapo-Rust® will not darken products made with low carbon steel. It's very hard to give universal instruction of how to use the rust removing liquid. So, let's start with what producer says of how to use the liquid. It's stated that you can use the same portion of Evapo as many times as you want until it gets dark. Don't dispose the product as soon as you've achieved one of your goals. It'll reduce the costs and make your work with metal parts more effective. absolutely easy usage of rust remover, you don't need any special instruments, skills or special conditions. A product of extensive research, EVAPO-RUST® rust remover is an environmentally safe water-based product that removes rust without the need for scrubbing. It's easy to use and anyone can restore their rusted tools, auto parts, even firearms to like-new condition.

However, I had a problem with a different brand of rust remover; because I used it often, I had some left on the bottom of the container, but not enough to cover the item I wanted to be treated. Naturally, it’s entirely possible that you run low on Evapo-Rust when you need it most. So, what do you do then — do you submerge it halfway there or do you paint the remover on the surface of the metal with a brush? Next, you’ll need some goggles and a pair of rubber gloves. Evapo-Rust is water-based, so doesn’t harm the skin, nor is it toxic. However, I still recommend using gloves and glasses, since it can splash into your eyes when you’re submerging the metal. Step 1: Pour Enough Evapo-Rust In Evapo-Rust™ is a revolutionary new product that removes rust in a safe, easy to use, and environmentally friendly manner. there aren't troubles with getting rid of spent liquid - you may just pour it down your drain with no aftereffects; On the other hand, submerging the item halfway can actually work. However, you will have to flip the item over and submerge the other half as well. It’s a process that’ll take a lot longer than full submersion, but it still works if you have little Evapo-Rust left. Step 3: Give It Time

The product can be re-used until its effectiveness starts to wear off. In general, one gallon of Evapo-Rust® will remove 1/2 pound of pure dry rust. Since rust is 1/17th the weight of iron, the workload is quite substantial. In this conversation, David talks about his discovery of the solvent and other products that he has created along the way. Also some buyers say that there aren't any positive sides in the product. I can't agree with it and I suppose these buyers have never used the Evapo-Rust. I also know that some small efficient companies buy tons of the product to use it in the production process. It can be effective in spheres of any production. Actually, this fact gives us more than warranty for optimal product quality. If you have problems removing rust from certain metal objects, I’m sure you’ve had many people give you different suggestions. Some would share their homemade rust remover “ recipe” while others would praise a product or two. Then again, you’ve surely browsed the web for a solution and maybe even found videos talking about water-based rust removers and how spectacular they are. And one of the best, highest-rated water-based rust removers out there is Evapo-Rust.

However, there is one clear difference between acids and Evapo-Rust. While an acid will definitely get rid of rust, it also tends to eat away at the metal underneath. So, you’ll get rid of the iron(III) oxide, but lose a lot of healthy iron in the process.
