About this deal

Again, this author has skills and I will absolutely be willing to read another if I am prepared for what I am getting. The answer is yes. Karissa Kinword provides a poetic glimpse into this very fantasy we treasure in the dark, hopeful moments of the night and set in between the very stars themselves.

I never connected with either Eliza or Silas. You don’t really get very in depth with their characters beyond them having a hell of a lot of sex and making flowery love declarations. I wanted to see more of them as individuals, and together building their relationship beyond sex. I think that there are two passing mentions that they want to get to know each other beyond their bodies, but we never get to really see it. I wanted a lot more cute moments to balance the spice. The only romance is when they spend that day together before they even decide to be together. Having read, and loved, She Gets The Girl – Alyson’s first book with her wife, Rachael, I was excited when I heard about her solo debut. Do you know those books? That seem sweet and gentle but are so brutal at the same time? That read so easily until you fully get what’s underneath? That can leave a knot in your stomach and make you almost stop breathing? I don’t know how to describe this book. Beautiful. Brilliant. Heartwarming. Touching…Damn! Tears are running down my face and my husband is looking at me weird! Breathe in, breathe out. Repeat…For my own eye health, I force my attention away from Mrs. Lassam’s glasses and flip over onto my stomach to snag my phone off the corner of my bed. 3:17 a.m. The screen lights up with a photo of me, which I’m sure looks slightly egotistical or at least super weird from the outside. But when I look at this photo, I don’t see myself. I see what I’m smiling at: the photographer. What an incredible book! I'm a reader who values the experience of reading a book just as highly as the book itself, and "Forget Me Not" managed to nail both categories perfectly. I read this book in a day, I literally couldn't stop reading. It is captivating in such a refreshing way, and as soon as I finished reading I immediately bought a copy. Two things to note: there IS a HEA, and there is no physical infidelity. One could make the argument that there is emotional infidelity, but I'm not sold on that. Here are my thoughts: Hi! This book is my solo debut and I cannot WAIT for you all to read it. Here are some things you’ll find in FORGET ME NOT: I meant to just read the first few chapters of this and found myself instead reading it in one day. Even though we know the answers, it was compelling to watch Stevie try to piece together what happened in the time she lost and consider whether she really needs to recover it or whether she should embrace the opportunity to start fresh. After all, in this missing time she apparently became more distant from her friends and family and also applied to the local community college when she’s been waiting her whole life to go somewhere new. Does she really want to be that person?

Imagine you've been dreaming of someone for years. You've never met this person, but whenever you fall asleep, you spend those hours connecting on a deep emotional and physical level. No one in the universe knows you as they do, loves you as they do. But every day, you wake up, remember it’s all just a dream, and continue with your real life. Stevie and Nora are all set to escape their small town – for its small size and its small-mindedness. They’re young, they’re in love, and with high school done and dusted, they just need to wait a few more weeks before they can set off across the country to California so they can be their authentic selves. They’re both desperate to get out from under the thumb of both of their families – for similar (and also wildly different) reasons. Ellie Terry also has a short video on youtube about her tics and there's a beautiful book trailer for this book too. I loved the author's note in the end. This like applies to all of us. Shows how challenging it can be to have Tourette syndrome, and what it's like for a young person in school who's not always able to control her movements and/or sounds. Sheds light on this often misunderstood condition. Immediately upon starting, you are transported to into the cosmos, exploring an entirely divergent way of life. How interesting it was to see what may be possible, if we applied ourselves as a society.Eliza is a mess sometimes, but aren’t we all? She has one foot in her dreams and one foot in reality and her journey was so beautiful. La frase “But would my mom really choose the Church over me?" (Pero, ¿realmente elegiría mi madre a la Iglesia antes que a mí?) ME HIZO MIERDA😭😭 Trigger Warnings: church, cursing, toxic beliefs, politics, accident, injury, hospital, coma, amnesia, homophobia, racism, racist micro-aggressions, underage drinking, internalized homophobia, disowning, child abuse, violence, unaccepting parents This book now sits at the top of my romance tier along with A Court of Mist and Fury and Remain Nameless, which are some my favorite books of all time. I cannot thank @karissakinwordwrites enough for the gift of this arc. This book was such a pleasant surprise amidst a major reading slump and I am thankful to have gotten to read this incredible story before it released.🖤
