That's right I have done that and flagged non-freesat channels as freesat so I can see them on guide with 5000+ numbers but I can't seem to find an option to manually record them via actual remote. Also if I use my smart tv to access to recordings I can find them under devices then foxsat but Sony's inbuilt video player plays only some of them, can't play some and some it just plays the video without any sound. Any idea what would cause that?
Question 4) Why does Foxsat come out of standby and stays on BBC 1 London which is not even on my TV guide, as I have hidden all none HD channels? No idea why it comes on in the afternoon and stays on until I turn it off despite the next recording is not scheduled until in the evening. I cant see much of potential interest on the I-17 Ku band beam, so assuming you are wanting the Indian channels they are C-band and will require a pretty big dish - probably start thinking at something in the region of 2m in diameter if not a bit bigger. There are too many options to discuss here. It's actually very easy to set up and use.
After years of waiting, the BBC and ITV finally launched Freesat, a subscription-free TV service offering over 80 TV, radio and interactive channels broadcast from the Astra and Eurobird satellites. The signal strength and quality are high. If severe weather conditions or your location are affecting reception, for example, the software update should be postponed until signal strength and quality are favourable again.The menu system shows how outdated Sky's system is now. The EPG is a revelation with high-resolution graphics and icons and as it's overlaid you can carry on watching a show whilst navigating the EPG. Should you try to record a programme available in both SD and HD, the Humax will ask you to choose which version you prefer. And should you try to record too many channels at once, the Foxsat-HDR will cleverly inform you of repeat showings – so you can record the show you're after at another time. The HUMAX doesn't see the Ethernet info via DHCP, I've added the info manually and it doesn't seem to connect. Which phone and what software version do you have ? SMB (samba) is the wrong place to look. You need a DLNA/UPNP server client on the phone. Without the above info not sure what to advise.
We were excited by the inclusion of BBC HD in the line-up of channels, as this was the first time free-to-air HD programming had been made available in the UK. For further opinions on the Freesat service, see our Humax Foxsat-HD review (What’s New, Shopper 247). ITV, however, is a problem. Its broadcast bit-rate is often much lower than the BBC's and it frankly looks dire in standard-definition on Freesat. We haven't seen an ITV HD broadcast yet in the few hours since installing the Foxsat-HDR but previous broadcasts viewed on the non-PVR version were superb. Yes sorry my bad I should have worded better, you are right I am referring to converting files for streaming then getting the DLNA logo to confirm it's been converted Both devices can see all files on Humax HDR-Fox T2 which also has the custom firmware installed but can't see anything on Foxsat. That said there are a few exceptions, all other ITV regions, UTV and STV in both SD and HD have full 7 day programme listing as information for these is provided by Freesat.I have postulated that it may be possible to install an alternative PSU, but as I have not been afflicted by a fault such as this I have not spent the time that would be necessary to study the problem. I would agree with the previous poster - it's not really something that I would advise trying to talk somebody through remotely, especially one's parents! Yes I have the CF & nowsters patch successfully installed, as I can stream HD recordings via Windows laptop.
