Product Information

The medicinal product is a combination of two antacids (calcium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate) and an alginate. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have an underlying medical condition, are taking any other medication or complementary therapy, or if symptoms persist

Through the alginate (refined from seaweed), it forms a protective barrier over the stomach contents to soothe the burning sensation in your chest and help prevent reflux. As with other antacid products, taking this product can mask the symptoms of other more serious, underlying medical conditions.Gaviscon is a very safe medicine. Most people who take it do not have any side effects. If you do get a side effect, it's likely to be mild and will go away when you stop taking Gaviscon. Each tablets contains 250mg ofsodium alginate, 106.5mg of sodium bicarbonate,and 187.5mg ofcalcium carbonate. If you have been advised a diet restricted in any of these please ask your doctor before taking this product. Note: if you have phenylketonuria, the product is sweetened with aspartame, which is a source of phenylalanine

They get to work in two different ways:Coloured, opaque, injection-moulded, polypropylene flip-top lid containers containing 8, 10, 12 or 16 tablets.
