I did a bit of skimming at times because the story was so in depth and there were characters I just didn’t even care to read their perspective. That is my only complaint in this book. And him and his dirty talk…😮‍💨 Just when I thought he couldn’t get any dirtier…And Auren opening up more just makes it even hotter. 🥵

Another fantastic book and what an ending setting things up for what I am sure will be an exciting finale! The Booktok hit: The Plated Prisoner Series continues in book 4. This dark adult fantasy romance is inspired by the myth of King Midas and the gold-touched woman who realizes her true worth. The end was an absolute roller coaster. I will say it didn’t entirely break me like the end of Gleam did, but it had my heart in my throat and screaming and I had to remind myself to breathe WAY more times than once. This cliffhanger is painful and did manage to make me cry like a baby, but with so much left up in the air knowing we’re going into the final chapter and seeing every stage set for that has me CHOMPING AT THE BIT to get my hands on book 5!!!Book 3 of this adult fantasy series continues in this epic story inspired by the myth of King Midas, fae, fated romance, and insurmountable greed. I rarely buy ebooks unless they are cheaply priced or on sale. I also very rarely buy physical copies of books. I’m a bit of a minimalist so I have to absolutely adore a book to buy a physical copy that will be proudly displayed in my home. I was nothing but a road to Midas. A means to get to where he wanted to go, and I paved that path in gold."

We are finally leaving the fifth kingdom and going into the fourth so we get a whole new aspect of world building in this book. The world is beautiful and Raven does a fantastic job of describing each of the different settings. She really brings this world to life in ways that make you feel like you are there. Star Rating Multiple POV , even if I didn’t care about some characters, I was able to get past my annoyance to be in their thoughts.. He’s sinister and powerful and entirely too seductive. I’ve learned my lesson with trusting manipulative kings, so why does my chest constrict every time he’s near? I need to tread carefully, or I’m at risk of losing much more than just my freedom. When she’s not reading or writing, she’s with her family, probably messing up a recipe or going on a hike that she thinks she can do, but in reality she can't because she remembers that all she does is sit at a computer all day and write her heart out. The chemistry between Slade and Auren is, as expected, simply delicious. We also have another two side characters in an unexpected ship that I loveeee.Suddenly, my trust is broken. My love is challenged. And I realize that everything I thought I knew about Midas might be wrong. I’ll be the villain for you. He is the epitome of death and revenge. The personification of rage. He destroys everything and everyone in his vicinity without glance or thought, and through the chaos, through the massacre, I revel in it.”
