We were new to camping last year and bought the hi gear Zenobia 6, for me, DH and DS. We wanted something cheap in case we didn't like camping, thinking we'd buy something better this year if we did. As we were on a budget we didn't buy the porch but I wish we had. The tent was spacious enough for the 5 of us but in the rain it would have made it better. The tent stayed dry in full on rain and wind. We didn't buy the bespoke carpet and ground sheet. Instead bought cheaper smaller ground sheets and used cheap picnic blankets. Worked fine At Christmas time in the southern hemisphere the winds tent to be quite high 40mph to 70mph, with 13mm wound poles this tent is excellent in these conditions, if Zenobia were to construct their poles of aluminium instead of fibre glass this tent would with stand all the different types of weather the Falklands has to offer campers during the summer season. It took my partner and I 30-40 minutes to set up the tent and porch combo, with a little adjusting of pole placement. There are some cheap family tents that can do the job well, but they might be less likely to stand any changing weather conditions.There are however some methods that you can use to determine a product’s quality without needing to physically have it.

But I'm wondering if it would just be a false economy to buy it. Prior to your trip, we'd suggest testing out your family tent somewhere local or in a garden if that's possible. This way you'll better see whether the tent is going to serve you well, as sometimes images and descriptions can't portray the full picture.
