About this deal

Through the endless leaps of human minds, it explores the extraordinary depth of our knowledge today and where our curiosity may lead us in the future. With groundbreaking insight it reveals how time, physics and chemistry came together to create a creature that can wonder at its own existence, blessed with an unquenchable thirst to discover not just where it came from, but how it can think, where it is going and if it is alone. It explains fine tuning as a result of the eternal inflaction that leads to a infinite inmortal universo growing fractal like withut end, there is not fine tuning problema, given the infinite multiverse,we are inevitable. Human Universe is a British television series broadcast on BBC Two, presented by Professor Brian Cox. [2] An accompanying book was also published. Do you like quantum physics? Do you like contemplating the theory of relativity? Do you like to think about matter and how thoughts form matter, and how this can relate to religious relics? Does pondering the creation of the universe thrill you? Do you like to thread religion into science? Then this is the book for you. We have an agenda, which is to show that this is a participatory universe that depends for its very existence on human beings…

Knox, David (2 January 2015). "Airdate: Human Universe with Brian Cox". TV Tonight . Retrieved 2 January 2015. Our obligation to survive is owed not just to ourselves but also to that Cosmos, ancient and vast, from which we spring,’ wrote Sagan. This book asks questions about our origins, our destiny, and our place in the universe. We have no right to expect answers; we have no right to even ask. But ask and wonder we do. Did not finish. I have enjoyed some of Chopra’s books in the past, but this book felt like it couldn’t decide whether it was a college physics textbook or new age positive thinking essay. Listening on audio I felt as if I was being forced to listen to a college professor drone on and make strange connections. After a few chapters I ended up giving up, as it was causing serious drowsy driving. If you can’t sleep, listen to this on audio. Your problem will be solved. Their closing argument for qualia and a human centric cosmos did not sell me tho. I am a huge fan of Chopra and this whole discussion is interesting but the contrast in the writing from the first 80% to the last 20% is obviously 2 different writers and not as clear, to me at last. From the bestselling author of Jews Don’t Count ‘ A hugely heartfelt, funny, kind, fascinating, human and clever book ’ ALAIN DE BOTTON You are the Universe: Discovering Your Cosmic Self and Why it Matters (2017) by Deepak Chopra and Menas Kafatos is a non-fiction book attempting to reconcile the spiritual and the metaphysical with the scientific. The truth is that we are the universe and can create a universe of our likings if it is accompanied by consciousness! Chopra and Kafatos make an argument that the universe is pure consciousness - that mind creates matter. They make the argument that science has come to an empirical end and cannot explain our origin story using the scientific method, but there were so many leaps and bounds and assumptions that I really cringed to get through the book without arguing with it. Regardless, it is fascinating to read different origin and meaning of life stories from scientists ... and I learned a lot about popular science theories by reading this book. However, I don't know that I really followed a lot of the conclusions "if this, then that — if not this, then definitely that" style of argument presented in the book. I am interested by consciousness and I don't doubt that consciousness is a frontier ... that what we know about it is barely surfacing... but I also don't know that they have really hit the nail on the head with this theory. We as example emerged because a asteroid colide with earth giving the rise of mammals, the dinosaurs dont give proofs of much improving inteligence despite their 150 milion years of kingdom, and we are here surely by a particular Earths orbit features that trought the Milankovich cicles give way to ice ages that trigered as a consecuence of strong climatic changes our emergence in the Rift valley.

Equal’ means ‘the same as,’ and in this case, energy is the same as matter, or mass is equivalent to energy. As far as the five senses are concerned, a sand dune, a eucalyptus tree, and a loaf of bread (matter) are totally unlike a bolt of lightning, a rainbow, and the magnetism that moves a compass needle (energy). But Einstein’s formulation has been proved correct many times over” (p 14). This is VASTLY different. Felt like I was getting a physical lecture. This isn't necessarily bad, but I didn't go into it with that kind of expectation. There is a lot of fascinating information to speculate on here. Cox is a gifted author and educator; his books are fun and educational. His passion for science and love of humanity is exuded throughout the book. Sagan said we are made of star stuff and the Vedas and Gita state we are the Universe. There is nothing within us that is not without and we are all one. This was a different format for chopra probably because it was written in collaboration with a Doctor of Physics.
