Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using or have recently used any other medicines which are applied to the skin as they may interfere with Hydromol Intensive Cream. If you are using medicines which are also to be applied to the skin you should talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Hydromol Intensive as it might not be suitable to apply other topical preparations at the same time.

Inflamed skin can become red on lighter skin, and darker brown, purple or grey on darker skin. This can also be more difficult to see on darker skin.If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet. You can also report side effects directly via the Yellow Card Scheme at: www.mhra.gov.uk/yellowcard. By reporting side effects you can helpprovide more information on the safety of this medicine. The Hydromol range is used for the treatment of dry skin and eczema. Each emollient can be used individually, or together as a Complete Emollient Therapy regime. If any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effect not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist. Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient is particularly suitable for infants. Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient should always be either added to water or applied to wet skin. Hydromol Intensive contains urea, the skin's natural moisturiser. Urea is a substance that is found naturally in the stratum corneum. It helps the skin retain moisture. Water is also normally retained in the stratum corneum by a thin layer of natural oil (sebum), which slowsdown evaporation of water from the skin surface. Recommendations for referral to secondary care, from the guidelines for management of atopic eczema from the Primary Care Dermatology Society and British Association of Dermatologists. Bath additive – Melt Hydromol Ointment in warm water in a suitable container, add mixture to the bath. Care should be taken as Hydromol Ointment will make the surface of the bath slippery. Always take special care when using emollients after bathing; this may present an increased risk of slipping and falling. Hydromol Cream is used topically for the treatment of dry skin, a feature present in all forms of dermatitis/eczema, psoriasis and all degrees of ichthyosis and senile pruritus.
