Just lately, he has been overly sensitive to noise and I saw in another thread this can be a symptom of pain or discomfort in joints This most clearly shows in his willingness to be groomed. Off jointsure, i can hardly get near him. He has walked off within a minute. With rimadyl on top of the jointsure, that is great if i need him to lie still over an extended time to give a very thorough grooming. Partly because these meds long term can cause their own serious issues but also because he had started with sloppy poos which are a known side effect especially of the Loxicom vet had said to try without a while. She was later diagnosed with a spinal problem though so most of her pain is nerve related (she's on gabapentin and paracetamol).

Different dogs react differently to individual supplements so one person may see an effect and another nothing. A friend has a sharpei with lots of joint problems and found a tin of sardines a week works wonders. Not something I dare try with Heidi’s constitution Does anyone give this to their dog and do you think it's made a difference to mobility and/or pain and discomfort? I didn’t think it could be the Gabapentin so soon but apparently it can after just an hour or two - he’s had 3 doses now since yesterday morning.Heidi’s been on Jointsure (initially Yumove) since a soft tissue injury when she was 8. (Took months of slowly, slowly to resolve) Without it I notice a difference. With it, she’s full of beans. I do think from what you all say that it’s worth trying yumove or similar, along with the Gabapentin.

Does anyone give this to their dog and do you think it’s made a difference to mobility and/or pain and discomfort? I have started the Gabapentin again this morning (vet had said to if necessary) but knowing Loxicom upset him before, wonder if it's worth trying the Yumove first. Vet agreed it was worth trying him off the meds to see but I think it's going to be ongoing so obviously want him comfortable. My limited understanding is that yumove and the like work best before any issues become apparent to protect the joints but not sure if that's true or not.
