Description

Kailh Box Jade switches are mechanical keyboard switches, similar to Cherry MX switches. They are manufactured by Kailh, a subsidiary of Razer. I almost forgot to mention that during this past month I have written one review that is not live at the time I am writing this, done some video game recordings, and done some personal writing. Unfortunately that is not too much specifically for OCC that I can point to, but I have been putting these to use.

Kailh box whites (esp compared to jades?) - Reddit How are Kailh box whites (esp compared to jades?) - Reddit

I love my box jades but they seem to be slightly too stiff. Thinking about buying some whites. But I'm not sure. Read that the whites have near zero tactility. How are they compared to gateron blues in that regard? Is their sound similar to jades? Before wrapping this up I want to talk about the stem and housing wobble, though there is none in the latter case. Of the three spare Box Jades I have, none of them exhibit any wobble between the top and bottom housing. By the way, the means by which the top and bottom housing snap together is also different between at least some Kailh switches and the traditional Cherry design. The Kailh Box Jade Switch has a reputation for being very smooth and having a quiet operation. They are often compared to the Cherry MX Brown switch, which is also known for its smooth feel and quiet operation. Even though they are called blue, the stem is a dark grey colour. I guess Kailh are running out of names considering they have released so many switches! Keeping to their name, they have a very heavy activation and bottom-out force. I found these too heavy for fast typing. Kailh Box Jade Switches are the newest addition to Kailh’s line of mechanical keyboard switches. They are a step up from the Kailh Blue switches, with a shorter travel distance and a higher actuation point. They are also available in both linear and tactile varieties. They can be difficult to clean, since the dirt and dust can get caught in the small gaps between the switch housing and the keycap. So I must apologize ahead of time, even though I planned on making this post I completely forgot to take any pictures, but without further ado let's get on with the "review." When it comes to gaming keyboards, there are a few different switch types that are popular among gamers. Kailh Box Jade Switches and Cherry MX Blues are two of the most common. Both switches have their pros and cons, so it can be tough to decide which one is right for you.IP40 - This rating covers most Cherry MX switches, with a solid protection rating of 4, meaning protection against solid objects larger than 1mm and a liquid protection rating of 0, meaning no rating or protection. For the statistics, without amplification and using the recording microphone my voice peaked at -10.508 dB while my typing peaked at -36.793 dB, without RNNoise enabled. With RNNoise enabled the peak was -16.356 dB and the typing was -36.793 dB. With the contrast tool, without RNNoise enabled my voice was at -36.85 RMS dB and my typing at -53.07 RMS dB for a difference of 16.22 RMS dB. With RNNoise enabled, my voice was at -42.92 RMS dB, my typing at -78.58 RMS dB, for a difference of 35.65 RMS dB, which is huge. Decibels are a logarithmic unit, not a linear one, so the actual difference here is far more than half.

Kailh Box - Reddit My thoughts and rankings of all the Kailh Box - Reddit

They come in many different colors, so you can match them to your keyboard’s theme or your own personal style. So, how do you choose the right Kailh Box Jade switch? It all depends on what you’re looking for in a keyboard switch. In this image, the highlighted section covers my initial speaking and then the typing. The last third is when I was both speaking and typing and is not used for the statistics. Linear key switches are popular for gaming, where the smooth travel of the keys minimises any finger fatigue due to fast and intensive key presses. Key Switch With a similar internal design to the Cherry MX Silent Red, the switch includes a rubber dampener to reduce noise when they bottom out. Unlike Kailh Box switches, these feature a stem that is a circular shape rather than a box. This did not seem to introduce any more or less keycap wobble. Kailh Pro PurpleMy best explanation for how I forgot to mention the weight of the Box Jades until now is that it is something I never needed to adapt to. With some of the other switches I could feel their heaviness and needed to adapt a little to it, but I cannot recall needing to do so for these. I quite possibly still did, but also found them comfortable to type on from the beginning and am interested in tactile switches that may offer sharp tactility as well. Hope you all liked this, it's definitely my longest post ever so feel free to critique my formatting too ;)

If you’re looking for a gaming keyboard that offers the best possible experience, Kailh Box Jade Switches are the way to go. Alternatives to the Kailh Box JadesI think I finally came across a switch with silly amounts of tactility AND a good reset speed... the NK Blueberry review will be coming... The Kailh Speed Silver has a smoother feel than the Kailh Box switches and the reduced activation and travel result in faster in-game response times. The activation force is also slightly higher than the Cherry MX, being 50g compared to 45g. I did not notice that this was too light, but I have found 35g switches (such as the Gateron Clear) to be far too light for gaming or typing. However, this does depend upon how hard you press the keys and if you lift off early or bottom out the keys.
