Simply plug the Dometic Gale into a 12v cigar lighter or similar power source using the extra long cable, set the PSI required and let the pump do it's job. The Dometic gale 12v electric pump is designed specifically for use with Kampa AIR awnings and tents and is a perfect match as it includes a screw on adaptor designed exclusively for Kampa tents and awnings, replacing the manual pump that comes as standard with all kampa models.

Just tried the pump in the car (not inflating the awning) and the sound wasn't bad . . no shreeking, just sound like a normal car tyre pump The screw adapter for the inflation point is genius & inflates my Ace Air 400 in 5 mins max, would highly recommendI use a 12v pump for mine. It takes 6 minutes to fully inflate a 3.9m awning. I also have the hand pump (just in case) but have never used it. (I’m a fit 65 yr old) Anyone waiting for the new Kampa Gale air pump, they are finally in the shops. Apparently the delay was due to being held up by the customs. I've just had the call from my dealer to go and collect mine.

However, my car tyre pump is also noisy, and I never heard a Breeze in operation, so the "noise" it makes is probably normal for this type f compressor. Do your research fully before buying any awning. There have been more than a few reports on here about Kampa’s tendency to leak, especially around the zip area. (I had one that tended to “seep” through the roof. It wasn’t condensation,) The Dometic Gale Pump is a 12v air pump designed for use with the range of Kampa & Dometic tents and caravan awnings. The Dometic Gale 12v electric pump is designed specifically for use with Kampa and Dometic AIR awnings and tents and is a perfect match as it includes a screw on adaptor designed exclusively for Kampa and Dometic tents and awnings, replacing the manual pump that comes as standard with all models. Penrose Touring will only be dispatch awnings to the main island of the UK - this excludes delivery to places that are not on the main island and typically, though not exclusively require travelling over water / sea. Examples of excluded places are Ref the screw adaptor at the inflation end of the hose ~~~ sure it is a brilliant concept but a better system would be to have the same union at the pump-end (two floating unions).

The pump will inflate up to a max of 12.5psi and comes with a 1.5m inflation hose as well as a long 12v supply cord with cigarette lighter plug and is approx 15 feet long (5m). I have the greatest of difficulties trying to connect to the inflation point with the hose already connected to the 'Gale'. The Dometic Gale Pump is a 12 volt electric pump that has been designed specifically for the purpose of inflating the Kampa / Dometic range of awnings, motorhome awnings and tents that use their airframe / airpole technology BUT CAN BE USED WITH OTHER BRANDS of awnings, tents and even items like airbeds, inflatable boats etc. A 12V electric pump designed specifically for use with Kampa AIR awnings and tents. Simply plug into a 12V power source using the extra long cable, set the required PSI and let the pump take care of the rest.

We have the Vango Varkala and I can inflate it in less time than it would take me to get an electric pump out of the boot and plug the thing in. For me they are in the same category as electric leg winders and screw in pegs. Just wondering if any "more mature" caravanners here use an electric pump or manage with a manual pump. Very prompt delivery and dispatch. Thanks. Haven’t tried it on the awning yet but it seems to work ok.

Bought a gale pump earlier this year, only used it a couple of times and all is ok, tend to stand it on one of our awning tiles as that does quieten it down a bit, also as Vango thought it was a great idea to put the valves on the inside of the awning that also helps to eliminate some of the noise!!! We are dedicated to exploring all that touring has to offer, ensuring excellent service is provided to our membership. The pump unit has a clear, digital display along with an adjustable pressure setting. It comes complete with handy adaptors for items like airbeds as well as tents and awnings. Ours isn't unreliable just slow. We keep it because we are told it will go to a higher pressure if it's windy so the poles will be more stable . . .The main problem I found was disconnecting the inflation tube from the awning. I have the mk1 awning with the white inflation point, when I tried to unscrew the tube, the big white nut on the inflation point was turning and the air was coming out . I had to go to reception and borrow a monkey wrench so that I could hold the white nut and unscrew the tube. Bit of a pain.
