I would recommend this book for ages 13 and up, since there is a little profanity thrown in here and there. ROMEO Then move not, while my prayer’s effect I take. Thus from my lips, by yours, my sin is purged. His body shuddered with what might have been a sob, but his lips found my own. It was gentle—soft. The kiss he might have given me if we’d been granted time and peace to meet across our two separate worlds. To court each other. I slid my arms around his shoulders, opening my mouth to him, and his tongue slipped in, caressing my own. Mate—my mate.” 15) The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski

Much like "Parson's Pleasure," this is another story of karma coming to bite you in the butt. I rate the former higher because I like the clean* storyline better and I feel that "Parson's Pleasure" has more impact and is more memorable than "Mrs. Bixby."I liked this one a lot - particularly how Miranda inflicts her friendship on Sylvie, and then the dynamics between the three main characters. It's the sort of thing I want to write. The characters are distinctly themselves, and seeing the way they affect each other is awesome. It's also unlike anything she's written before, and I think that's really admirable. The plot is intricately weaved like a beautiful tapestry. It’s complicated and intriguing. Unexpected twists abound. I was on the edge of my seat while reading it. And did I mention, I devoured the book at a record speed.

The Kiss Thief (stand-alone). Senator Wolfe Keaton stole a kiss, he stole her everything, or did he?! ROMEOO, then, dear saint, let lips do what hands do;They pray, grant thou, lest faith turn to despair. I loved the imaginary world that Wilson created for Sylvie and Carl in GlassWorld and honestly I would just love to read the GlassWorld Chronicles that Sylvie and Carl write throughout the novel. The way that the Chronicles were woven through the story really helped the audience to understand Sylvie's personality in more depth and therefore sympathise with her as her perfect world shatters around her. But those stories are so easy to access, so full of interesting thoughts about human nature, so clever and complex in their minimalism, leaving the reader with the thought that this could probably really happen somewhere and what a strange place the minds of many human beings must be.I don´t read many short stories, I mean, who does, and so it´s quite subjectively that I find this funny, weird, strange and frightening little story hybrids very entertaining. One of the main reasons I don´t read short stories is that, procrastinating as I am, avoid any unnecessary move and beginning a novel is always a bit similar to, ugh, work, as one has to remember some elements to get in the story, except in the rare cases of true masters of the art. I also thought that the whole glass world was a bit dull but I am reading from an adult mind I enjoy reading young adult for children's books but even then I would have struggled to enjoy parts of the book that talk about Sangria or glass world in the glass Hut. I understand that Sylvie only had Carl as a friend and not many others but she just seemed to be only aware of him and this world they created while others kids had a couple of friends. Tropes show how literature is conceptualized and created and which mixture of elements makes works and genres unique: It was bound to happen, but I had no idea it would happen in such spectacular fashion. Alas, all good things come to an end....With that said, several of my #1 loves have been dethroned! My new #1, Wolfe Keaton, is EVERY SINGLE LITTLE THING that ever was! ROMEO O, then, dear saint, let lips do what hands do; They pray, grant thou, lest faith turn to despair.

SPOILER! The revelation that Carl was gay isn't something I found surprising. I didn't like the fact that it was almost used as a plot twist, I felt like it shouldn't have been that way. Also, I think I would have preferred this book narrated by Carl rather than from Sylvie's point of view because it would have been far more powerful, reading about Carl's unravelling of himself and discovering who he is. It was almost explored but Sylvie's childish continuation of her 'fairytale' future marriage to him kept distracting me from the main issue. I wanted to shake her actually. Philbin, Cara (3 July 2012). "Zoe Chace Found An Unwelcome Truth Lurking in Roald Dahl's "Kiss Kiss" ". NPR . Retrieved 28 September 2012. And that cats have evolved an indifference to classical music, since those with a musical ear die before they have a chance to pass on their genes. For its sheer creepiness and genius lyric discomfort — and the way we squirm in our seats whenever we read it. Augustus Waters,” I said, looking up at him, thinking that you cannot kiss anyone in the Anne Frank House, and then thinking that Anne Frank, after all, kissed someone in the Anne Frank House, and that she would probably like nothing more than for her home to have become a place where the young and irreparably broken sink into love. We kiss again, and this time, it feels familiar. I know exactly how we fit together, his arm around my waist, my hands on his chest, the pressure of his lips on mine. We have each other memorized.” The rims of Clementine’s eyes were inflamed. She yawned. She rubbed her nose with the heel of her hand. And then she asked, “Do you want to practice kissing?”
