The new KNOSTI Disco-Antistat Ultrasonic also relies on brushes, specifically replaceable brushes made of goat hair, but this is only one tool for cleaning. Really? It’s too much hassle and I wouldn’t bother. Depending on the grimy nature of your records, I would use the bath liquid until its too contaminated to use, and then dispose of the same. Then refill with new liquid. In between, to prevent airborne contamination, by all means cover the bath with a cloth or, a better alternative, shape a large piece of kitchen foil over the bath entrance which will be spotlessly clean (a cloth might not be), can be shaped into a rough bath shape and has an element of rigidity and weight so will stay put when the Disco-Antistat is not in use. These microscopic bubbles implode with such force that contaminants adhering to surfaces are dislodged. KNOSTI Phono-Zubehör-Vertriebs GmbH has remained faithful to the principle of record drying, because after cleaning, the records are placed in the KNOSTI Disco Antistat drying stand in the tried and tested manner.

Bei den Achshaltern ist auch Vorsicht angesagt, die biegen sich bei jeder Umdrehung verdächtig hoch. I’m GUESSING it’s a full step up from those Chinese baths and a half step down from the Degritter (from what I’ve read) on en perd beaucoup lorsqu'on vide le bac dans le filtre. Si on nettoie peu de vinyles mais souvent, on se trouve assez vite en manque. It also indicated that, quite possibly, performance could be improved still by the Disco-Antistat machine if a replacement formula could be used instead. Developed and manufactured in Germany, the Knosti Disco-Antistat record washer has also been widely used since the mid-1970s. This Knosti kit includes a light gray basin, a pair of goat hair brushes, and a set of record clamps that protect the label on the record. With both products praised by many people, it can be challenging to choose between them. To give you a helping hand, we’ve provided you with a helpful comparison of the two products. Therefore, it’s not the best for professionals or people who own an extensive vinyl collection. However, it gets the job done for half the price! Clamp attached to the record. The protruding axles will eventually rest on the bath runnels to allow rotation

This allows one brush to clean the run-in groove and playing surface, and the other to clean the playing surface and the run-out groove (right up to the edge of the label). You will, of course, have to turn the record round to clean both run-in and run-out grooves of both sides. The most important and effective tool of the new KNOSTI Disco-Antistat Ultrasonic is ultrasound, which is used to loosen even stubborn dirt and then remove it with the goat hair brushes. I performed a direct A-B comparison between the Disco-Antistat and the Spin Clean system, which looks very smart but uses those pads I mentioned instead of the brushes and the resultant cleaning performance was easy to hear. The Disco-Antistat was ahead in terms of sonic improvement. I've tried four LPs and have had some really excellent results, whether because of the longer soak time, the better brushes or the L'Art du Son fluid I bought to go with the new machine, I don't know. StereoNET (United Kingdom) is part of an international network of publications owned wholly by Sound Media International Pty Ltd The new KNOSTI Disco-Antistat Ultrasonic is a completely new approach, according to the German company KNOSTI Phono-Zubehör-Vertriebs GmbH. For the first time, they are offering an automatic record cleaning solution that goes far beyond what the company has been known for so far.

I've just bought a Knosti Disco Antistat record washing machine which is a manual machine (German origin) similar in some ways to the Spin-Clean. In short, because although the RCM does a far better job of drying the disc, I think the Knosti does a better job of washing. Oh, don't freak out, the record holding base is nested in the bottom of the big piece (I didn't notice until I looked at the instructions). The cleaner recipe as linked and included recipe printout works fine. Distilled water from supermarket, Methanol from Home Depot/whereever, Isopropyl 90% from pharmacy/chemist and scentless (Free and Clear) detergent from wherever (you should use that stuff anyways).

p210: Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. The design of the new KNOSTI Disco-Antistat Ultrasonic also looks very familiar, it is clearly based on the previous solutions. At least in appearance, the housing resembles the familiar systems from KNOSTI Phono-Zubehör-Vertriebs GmbH.
