About this deal

In this book, not only do we get to explore a route along with Raynor and her husband Moth, but they take us through parts of Scotland, England and Wales! They are such an inspiration to me, especially Moth who as many of you will know has a degenerative disease. Raynor Winn has done it again. She's achieved a miracle, defying all odds and walking 1,000 miles with her beloved husband Moth. But she has also given her vast army of fans - both armchair hikers and the real thing - another wondrous book, full of compassion, humour, insights, closeness to nature and true, bloody-minded grit. An inspiration. -- Isabella Tree, author of Wilding A captivating reflection on nature and the lines that divide and shape countries and people. Sainsbury's Magazine

This is a story of grit and persistence, but most importantly, a tale of putting oneself ‘in the way of hope.’ Readers familiar with the couple's previous adventures especially will love this third installment. BooklistRaynor Winn knows that her husband Moth’s health is declining, getting worse by the day. She knows of only one cure. It worked once before. But will he—can he?—set out with her on another healing walk? As they traverse the path, they encounter other walkers, negotiate dangerous terrain, struggle with injuries and the will to continue their journey, many times teetering on the brink of giving up. While they trudge on, the reader is treated to Scottish history, geography, and anecdotes from their life, as they witness homelessness, climate crisis, and extinction. It all makes for an interesting read, especially if, like me, you know very little about Scotland.

Heartening and comforting... The nature writing is beautiful and it is a thrill to read. You feel the world is a better place because Raynor and Moth are in it * The Times * Fantastisch boek over hoop, tegenslagen, en de impact van de buitenwereld op het menselijke lichaam. Giet daar nog het sausje van empathische en beschrijvende schrijfstijl van Winn overheen en je bekomt een prachtig geheel.. As well as a portrait of a telepathic marriage of true minds, and a snapshot of a fretful island, this is a soaring lament and a tub-thumping tirade - for all that is being lost, for all that may yet be saved * Telegraph * need kohanimed ja rajajupid ja mudased rabanõmmed ja jäälind kanali kohal, need olid mulle kõik nii tuttavad. ja muidugi soovin ma nüüd üle kõige võtta ka neli kuud vabaks ja sarnase seikluse ise läbi teha, ja okei, kui ma nelja kuud ei saa, siis vähemalt mingi osa ikkagi, ainult et kuidas ma valin, kas Pennine Way või West Higlnand või... okei, ma pean ikka kõik tegema.Raynor knows that her husband Moth's health is declining, getting worse by the day. She knows of only one cure: the healing power of walking. This third book about the lives and travels of an amazing couple is a must read. The life they are leading despite their problems and Moth’s illness is inspiring and helps to put most people’s problems in perspective.

An inspiration.” Pfff, ik heb het boek eindelijk uit😅. Het Zoutpad heb ik na 150 pagina’s weggelegd. Dit wilde ik per se uitlezen. A thrill to read. The nature writing is beautiful, heartening and comforting. You feel the world is a better place." The Times (London)Raynor and Moth walk to live . . . _____________Raynor knows that her husband Moth's health is declining, getting worse by the day. In dit derde boek vervalt Raynor in herhaling. Dat past bij wandelboeken, maar op een gegeven moment vind ik het veel van hetzelfde. mida ma üldse saan Raynori ja Mothi loo kohta öelda sellist, mida ma eelmiste raamatute puhul juba öelnud poleks? siin läheb ikka edasi seesama lugu, mis algas mitu aastat tagasi Mothi diagnoosi ja nende kodutuksjäämisega; kodutuse teema sai lahenduse, aga ravimatu haiguse teema mitte. täiesti ootuspäraselt halveneb Mothi tervis uuesti ja täiesti ootuspäraselt asub 60-ste abielupaar (Raynor mõni aasta alla ja Moth mõni üle) jälle matkarajale, sest see on see, mis enne on aidanud. This has a great outlook on a good few areas of GB and if you were ever wondering about visiting then this has a little insight into that.
