A bit extended but as the story unfolds I couldn’t stop reading, especially when I entered the period I was aware of. It is a biography focused on everyone around MJ, sometimes leaving him aside which allows you to observe and understanding who he is/was. I recommend it as I feel it is a book that makes a myth look humane but at the same time inspires the reader just by mentioning all the things he and his teams have been through. The depth of the book becomes pretty shallow in Jordan's later years, however. His divorce is mentioned almost as an afterthought. One never gets the full sense of Jordan's philandering, but there are stories of games of pool in topless bars, all-day golf excursions, and plenty of fine cigars and booze to fill the time. Lazenby makes MJ's playing for the Wizards seem like a benevolent deed, not something Jordan did because he couldn't succeed at anything else and his ego just wouldn't let his position within the game go. The book is fairly critical of his time as "The Loser" as owner of the team with the worst single-season record in league history. In some cases, perhaps Jordan is reaping bad karma from having been so critical of Krause and Reinsdorf and holding grudges when they traded his friends or made other necessary business decisions. With the possible exceptions of boxer Muhammad Ali and baseball player Babe Ruth, no athlete has made a greater impact on American society – or in the world – than Michael Jordan. Follow the life of one of the most recognizable athletes and living brands inside this engaging and balanced biography. Keep collections to yourself or inspire other shoppers! Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. The book that I read was Driven from Within by Michael Jordan a great book for all basketball player and basketball fans. I started reading this book 2 years ago when my sister bought it from a library in Virginia. When my sister stopped reading it, she put it away and I decided to read it. I was interested in this book because I thought that Michael Jordan was the best basketball player of all time, and he still is. I’m interest in his shoes and in his life that he made before him finished his career. Michael Jordan’s book describes his life from the beginning to the end of this career and he made many great quotes in this book.

Lazenby studied at Virginia Military Institute and Hollins University, and has been a member of Virginia Tech's Department of Communication and Radford University's School of Communication. A group of students from his media writing class compiled the book April 16th: Virginia Tech Remembers (2007), an account of the Virginia Tech massacre. Lazenby served as editor. This was a very similar book to Kobe’s “The Mamba Mentality.” I enjoyed reading about his processes in going through all of the different championships. The flu game process was an interesting read where even more was going on and he was basically chugging coffee just to survive. Roland Lazenby’s Michael Jordan: The Life is an in-depth biography that covers the legendary basketball player’s entire life. From his humble beginnings in North Carolina to his rise to superstardom in the NBA, Lazenby paints a vivid portrait of Jordan’s life and career. Through interviews with those close to Jordan, Lazenby provides insight into what made him such a successful athlete and person. He also looks at Jordan’s struggles, particularly with gambling, and how he was able to overcome them. Overall, this book is an essential read for anyone interested in learning more about the life and legacy of Michael Jordan. It is an incredibly well-researched and comprehensive account that sheds light on the man behind the myth. One can imagine Jordan pausing then realizing what his closest friends and his many fans realized so long ago. That he doesn't have to ask anymore, his long-ranging debate can be put away forever now the answer is right there in front of him, in front of all of us, something that he can clearly see."

Michael Jordan defied gravity, transcended the world’s expectations, and exceeded the limits of age, soaring to fame as the world’s greatest basketball player of all time. While his talent was breathtaking to behold – those flying dunks and record-breaking 60-point games have inspired generations – the unseen forces behind his success are the kind we can all harness for our own. There's no question of Mr. Jordan being one of, if not THE, greatest basketball players of all time. However, what made MJ23 so different was how he changed culture. He brought the world long shorts, athletic shoe obsessions, earrings on men, and bald-as-cool. He transcended the sport. This is one of the Michael Jordan coffee-table books (photos, magazine layouts) which will always look good because even though the 1990s are long gone, his portion of that decade still seems relevant. Lots of pics, not too many words, and His Airness just relating his go-getterness make this a perfect book for any fan. When Michael Jordan was a famous basketball player Jordan said “I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” Michael fails a lot of times in his life and he didn’t give up and tried and tried again and was successful in life. He lost lots of games that were very important and didn’t have up and was successful the second time around.

While waiting for the next installment of The Last Dance to arrive, here are five books you can read to fill your Michael Jordan fix. This book was short, fascinating, and insightful. It was also written by one of the greatest basketball players of all time, which initially drew my interest to it.Lazenby's book Bull Run! was named Sports Book of the Year for 1997 by the Independent Publishers Association. Jordan’s words “Don't let them drag you down by rumors just go with what you believe in.” in this quote he said that to not let people tell you things that will make you not want to do what you really want and believe in. Michael believed that he could become a famous basketball player and could be something in life. Some people believed in him and some people didn’t and Jordan didn’t listen to them because he knows that he was good. This book was nice because it has comments from teammates and people who worked will him and they wrote things about he and wrote he it felt to work will him and how he was when he is not playing basketball. Michael also talked about then and how it felt to play with them. M. J. and his accomplishments were founded on discipline, hard work, and knowing how to channel the deep, competitive drive within. Michael Jordan: Life Lessons from His Airness offers a courtside seat to the wild ride that made Michael Jordan a star and reveals valuable insights for anyone trying to make their own lofty dreams come true. Michael Jordan: A Biography by David L. Porter The List of Books About Michael Jordan is a compilation of biographies, autobiographies, autobiographical novels, and other works about the life and career of the basketball legend. The list is intended to provide an overview of the available materials on the former Chicago Bulls star, and to help researchers, fans, and casual readers alike find the best books about Michael Jordan. It includes works written by Jordan himself, as well as books about him by journalists, biographers, and other authors. The list is meant to be comprehensive, so it includes books from all eras of Jordan’s career, from his college days to his retirement in 2003.

Living and working in the Chicago area during the awesome Bulls' run caused me to become a solid fan. Although I was aware of most of the content of this book already, it was interesting to read MJ's voice in the 1st person. Basically a magazine article on steroids with all the photos and sidebars. Michael Jordan was the driving force behind the Chicago Bulls dynasty of the 1990s. Photograph: Mike Powell/Getty Images Great book. The parts focusing on MJ and his parents are awesome, and you learn a lot about how Michael views his game and how he approached both his business brand and his sports brand to attain the success he achieved. One of the few books Michael Jordan has ever written an editorial review for, Jordan tells readers, “I consider Tim Grover to be second to none in his knowledge of sports training, and he was an invaluable part of my training program. He is a take-charge person, with a deliberate but energetic and enthusiastic technique.”Following the Netflix series ‘The Last Dance’, I decided to read this book to understand more about the psychology behind MJ’s drive. This is a book about the power of collaboration and teamwork, the awe-inspiring energy generated when people combine their creativity and passion and a fearless desire to lead.

Basketball journalist Roland Lazenby spent almost thirty years covering Michael Jordan’s career in college and the pros. He witnessed Jordan’s growth from a skinny rookie to the instantly recognizable global ambassador for basketball whose business savvy and success have millions of kids still wanting to be just like Mike. Yet Lazenby also witnessed the Michael Jordan whose drive and appetite are more fearsome and more insatiable than any of his fans could begin to know. It became immediately apparent that the style of Kobe's Mamba Mentality book was based on this one. the category i put this novel in was that its a non-fiction book because everything and experience in this book is true because it tells you all the ups and downs Michael Jordan did to be successful but he would love the game win or lose.I devoured this book in a single day, something that is normally very out of character for me and I haven't done since I first read The Giver.
