Description

Half-press: Turbo mode (momentarily, only for 11 seconds and drops down to 1000 lumens. You will see a countdown bar while pressing the button. It will turn off when you release it. The TURBO Level (3,000 lumens) will produce massive heat rapidly during long-time activation. Use caution when operating the product on TURBO Level to avoid overheating and step down to a lower level if the product becomes too hot to handle. Measurement disclaimer: Testing flashlights is my hobby. I use hobbyist-level equipment for testing, including some I made myself. Try not to get buried in the details of manufacturer specifications versus measurements recorded here; A certain amount of difference (say, 10 or 15%) is perfectly reasonable. What’s Included

Note: *Turbo mode is a manually operated momentary function and the run-time is tested without temperature regulation active. Nitecore includes a USB-A to USB-C cable, to charge the light via the USB-C port, which is located near the switches. The Nitecore EDC27 has a pretty unique design, being slim and long, but without a bezel, or a normal-looking reflector.Nitecore has used a couple of Luminus SST-40 emitters in the EDC27, along with what looks to be a custom TIR optic. When the light is on / off, half press and hold the MODE Button (STROBE READY™) to access TURBO (3,000 lumens). Release to return to the previous status or turn it off. STROBE READY™ One of the biggest fears of OLED screens is their water resistance. Now you know that the entire flashlight is completely IPX4 waterproof rated. That basically means that you can peacefully use the flashlight under heavy rain.

I was a bit doubting between 4 and 4.5 stars, but with the unique design, and features, plus the output and performance, I can give it a final score of 4.5 stars. But that would actually gear towards tactical EDC use, and not for EDC use. For EDC it would score lower. The integrated ATR technology regulates the output of the EDC27 according to the working condition and ambient environment to maintain the optimal performance. Safety Instructions When the light and the screen are on, half press the Power Button to cycle through "ULTRALOW – LOW – MID - HIGH". The flashlight will directly access the previously memorized brightness level when reactivated. Powered by a built-in rechargeable 1700mAh Li-ion battery, which is charged via a USB-C port on the side of the light. The constant current circuit of the EDC27 is designed to maintain a steady flow of power to the flashlight, providing a consistent and reliable beam of light.Because I didn’t have any rain, I tested the flashlight under a heavy shower, and it worked perfectly fine. x LED Luminus SST-40 με ένα ενιαίο κάτοπτρο για ομοιόμορφο και απαλό φωτισμό, ο EDC27 προσφέρει μέγιστη ισχύ φωτισμού που φθάνει τα 3000 Lumens ενώ η φωτεινότητα του είναι πολύ πιο μεγάλη από τους κοινούς φακούς καθημερινής χρήσης. Group 1, from left to right: Nitecore EDC27, Olight Arkfeld Ti, Wuben X2, Nitecore TUP, Fenix E-spark. The Nitecore EDC27 is a new flashlight from Nitecore with a slim profile design. Featuring a stainless steel body with a PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) matte titanium coating. A copper and aluminium heat dissipation module helps draw heat away from the LEDs to provide longer lasting lighting. But the EDC27’s durability didn’t stop there. Its scratch and fingerprint-resistant surface ensured that the flashlight always looked clean and new, even after heavy use.

The ATR module is responsible for monitoring the temperature of the flashlight and adjusting the output accordingly. At mid-output levels I found the battery lasted about at 4 hours and then took just over an hour to fully recharge. Of course at lower levels the runtime is considerably more. I tested outdoors in pitch darkness and was very impressed. The beam is white but not overly cool – no noticeable yellows or greens. The mid mode provides a max output of 237 lumens. You get a maximum beam throw of 59 meters and 900cd of brightness — I love the beam distance gap here.
