Description

While podcaster Alix Summers is out with her husband to celebrate her 45th, after the big song, a woman named Josie approaches the table and informs her that she is her TRUE birthday twin---down to the year. Though Alix finds this surprising, the two go about their separate celebrations and she figures that will be the end of it. UNTIL Josie happens to run into Alix yet again - this time, outside of her children's school - and Josie has become completely enamored with Alix's podcast. In fact, she thinks she has the perfect candidate for Alix's next episode: Josie Fair herself. Josie has just inherited some money so she and her husband decide to go to an expensive pub to celebrate her 45th Birthday. Alix is also celebrating her 45th birthday in the same pub with her best friends. Josie follows Alix to the toilets and discovers that not only do they share the same birthday but they were born in the same year and the same hospital. I don’t think Roxy killed Brooke. Yes, Roxy definitely had violent tendencies. But according to Erin, Roxy wasn’t home at the time and I don’t think Erin has a reason to lie about that. It’s more risky for Erin to blame her parents. (For the record, I was wrong about this!! And Erin is clearly more scared of Roxy.) Alix is convinced by Josie to make her the subject and storyline of her next podcast which reaches out to thousands of women suffering domestic and psychological abuse, and women who enjoy hearing other life stories. What is to happen here though, changing format is the story has not yet completed. Its real time crime!!!.

SANDRA EBEJER: Congratulations on the new book! After so many years of writing, do you still find it as exciting when a new book is going out into the world? In what ways does class influence the book’s events? How do the two families’ different social classes factor into the plot?Alix and Josie bump into each other for the first time in the bathroom of a local pub, coincidentally on the day they were both turning 45. They were birthday twins! Josie also wants to be the only one to set the narrative. She doesn’t want Alix talking to anyone but her. Not her mother, not Walter, not Brooke or her daughters. Overall, this is an intense and suspenseful read that delivers on the thrills. For the rest, it boils down to the reader’s ability and/or willingness to ignore certain aspects of the story.

Josie then pitches herself as a twist on Alix’s usual podcast topic: she is a woman about to make big changes in her life.

Even though Alix finds Josie's vibe unsettling, she admits there's something fascinating about her. She is intrigued. Alix is a successful podcaster who features inspiring women. While celebrating her 45th birthday she bumps into Josie who shares the same birthday, and birthplace. Such a coincidence! Josie has a story to tell and pitch that idea to be on Alix's show. so we know I loved it… I am going to bet you will too!! Have you read this? THOUGHTS??? Is this on your list??? What is your favorite @lisajewelluk book? Q: Were there any plot and character revelations you were especially excited to finally give the reader? He holds the door open for her now and she passes through. They stand marooned for a moment by a sign that says “Please wait here to be seated” and Josie gazes around at the early-evening diners and drinkers, her handbag pinioned against her stomach by her arms.
