Characters: I don’t watch the Real Housewives series, so I don’t know how much these women behave like those women. But almost all of the characters in One of Us Is Dead are just the worst. Shannon, reeling from her recent divorce from Bryce the Congressman, is delusional about her current situation. Karen, the one who literally thinks she “not like the other wives,” is clueless about her current situation. Crystal, Bryce’s new wife, is the most perceptive and tolerable character but she’s clearly hiding something about her past from the reader. Which brings us to Olivia …. This is definitely a popcorn thriller 🍿, and so well done at that. I loved it, and look forward to reading more from this author. This book reminds me of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (or any Real Housewives show). A handful of rich women with their rich husbands and all their drama and problems… but the thriller version. This book is an assault on all women. Every character is vapid and stupid, caricatures of RH in any area. Women are NOT this stupid.Along with the female drama, there were some twists thrown in there that gave this book a bit of suspense. I also really enjoyed the ending. Was it unrealistic? Maybe. But, because of it I gave this book a higher rating.
