About this deal

Optrex Actimist for Dry & Irritated Eyes, Optrex Actimist for Itchy & Watery Eyes and Optrex Actimist for Tired & Strained Eyes are all medical devices. Optrex Eye Wash, Optrex Soothing Eye Drops for Itchy Eyes and Optrex Night Restore Gel Drops are also medical devices. Always read the instructions for these products. Do not use after ill-advised attempts to dislodge wax using fingernails, cotton buds or similar implements, as such mechanical efforts can cause the ear's delicate inner lining to become damaged, inflamed or infected, whereupon the use of ear drops can be painful. For similar reasons, it is inadvisable to use Otex within 2 to 3 days of syringing. Ear wax is a normal secretion of the ear. It is produced to provide a protective layer in the ear and on the ear drum. There are times when too much wax is produced. This can result in hearing difficulties and may cause pain.

Pregnant women should always consult their doctor before using any medicines during pregnancy. As a general rule, it is also advisable to be cautious about the use of any medication during breast-feeding unless prescribed by a doctor. It's also worth bearing in mind that unless treatment is needed urgently, it may be appropriate to delay this until after pregnancy and/or breast-feeding. That being the case, however, there are no specific restrictions to using the ear drops during pregnancy or breast-feeding.Instill up to 5 drops into the ear. Retain drops in ear for several minutes by keeping the head tilted and then wipe away any surplus. Do not worry if you occasionally forget to use Otex. When you remember, just carry on using this product once or twice daily as usual.

This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet. a) 12 ml amber glass bottle incorporating a specially designed polythene pipette applicator enclosed in a polypropylene screw cap.Tilt head and gently squeeze 2 to 3 drops into the ear without touching the ear with the end of the dropper. Published clinical trials have demonstrated that recent use of Otex (for up to 3 to 4 days before syringing) can make ear syringing much easier, and in some cases can avoid the need for syringing altogether. It should not be necessary to use any ear wax remover drops soon after syringing because it generally takes a few months for new wax to build up. If the problem recurs much sooner than this you should seek medical advice because this should not normally happen. A hard plug of wax can be softened using Otex ear drops. Wax can also be removed by your doctor or practice nurse, by flushing the ear with warm water (syringing). If there is a lot of wax or the wax is very hard, it may need to be softened first and Otex ear drops can also be used for this.
