On multiple occasions from week to week we are guaranteed to see white looking Burn/scorch marks on the insides of ovens. Yes, this is caused by Oven Pride. Sometimes even by products like Mr Muscle that also contain sodium hydroxide. Only small traces of the chemical need to be present in the oven after cleaning for the sodium hydroxide do damage the ovens enamel once it’s heated up.

Even small splashes on door seals and trims is common place. It would be extremely hard to clean an oven without splashing a liquid, even if just a few drops on surrounding areas.
