As someone that works in the library I would love to see some books come to life, that's every readers dream I suppose. I never saw this as a kid, so with seeing it for the first time as adult I noticed that is very much geared toward younger kids with its short run time and simple story. Advertising by Association: Some of the trailers for the film said "From the creator of An American Tail" at the beginning. This was possibly done to mislead people into thinking it was a Don Bluth film, which it wasn't; David Kirschner produced both films. The main character is someone you can really root for. He's a nerd and a coward, but he has a lot of potential too be something more. You'll be rooting for him the whole way.
