(454 g) jars. Keep this and all medication out of the reach of children. Store at controlled room temperature 68-77° F (20-25° C). Keep in mind that each deworming cycle with Panacur requires three administrations. Do not cut the daily treatments short – the round needs to be completed to ensure efficacy and prevent reinfection. Fenbendazole is currently not FDA approved as a veterinary medication. However, it is readily utilized in the veterinary field, and veterinarians can legally prescribe certain human drugs in animals in certain circumstances. This is called extra-label or off-label use because this use isn’t described on the drug label.Pregnant queens can be safely treated with Panacur Granules but only require a single treatment at the routine adult dose rate, as there is no pre-natal transfer of worm larvae in the queen. Administer 100mg fenbendazole per 1kg (2.2lb) bodyweight as a single dose. Panacur for Tapeworms in Dogs. Tapeworms ( Taenia pisiformis ) in dogs are transmitted via flea bites. In addition to these worms, Panacur (fenbendazole) is approved in Europe to treat Giardia in dogs and is sometimes used off-label in the U.S. to deal with Giardia infections. It is also occasionally used off-label to combat lungworm infections. How Does Panacur Work? Call your vet or pharmacist if you have you have additional questions or concerns about the use of fenbendazoleTreatment should be repeated when natural re-infection with parasitic worms occurs. Routine treatment of adult animals with minimal exposure to infection is advisable 2 to 4 times per year. More frequent treatment, at 6 to 8 weekly intervals, is advisable for dogs in kennels. Weaned puppies and kittens under six months of age As this treatment of pregnant bitches is 98% effective, puppies from these bitches should themselves be treated with a 3-day course at 2 and 5 weeks of age with Panacur 2.5% or 10% Liquid or Panacur Paste. Treat the bitch at the same time at the routine adult dose rate (i.e. 100mg/kg as a single dose).
