About this deal

West perhaps alludes to the fact that porn "entrepreneurs" were not just a factor in the seventies, but well before that, courtesy of a brief showing of Lionsgate hits up horror fans with a nice little Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Code edition that gives Pearl lovers plenty to be excited about. All in all top marks for Disney Customer Relations on both sides of the Atlantic for their rapid response. A brand-new 2-disc set of the film on it's way from Disney UK for definite. And, if the stories on here are correct, perhaps another complete 2-disc set from America at some point in the future, depending on how much longer this darn ash cloud interrupts international postal services. Previously they had not recognised the issue but now the disc has been reissued with the problem fixed you can get a replacement.

The video quality is clean making this Lionsgate home entertainment release a pleasure to watch over and over again. Pearl is written and directed by West, whose directed a number of modern genre staples like The Innkeepers, an eerily Jim Jones-esque slow burner called The Sacrament, and The House of the Devil. The prequel also marks actress Goth's first foray into screenplay writing and she's credited as a co-writer for the feature. Among a number of producers for the movie are Euphoria's creator and showrunner Sam Levinson and song-writer and rapper Kid Cudi, who previously starred in X. which, unlike X, is in very good repair and seemingly the ideal of the American Dream, at least the rural variety. Coming Out of Her Shell: The Creation of Pearl (HD; 11:38) is an above average EPK, with some good interviews with Just get in touch with Disney US, all they ask for is a scan of the barcode on the case and you dont need to return your current disc. As I alluded to above, seeing X isn’t necessarily a requirement, though it might give the viewer a deeper appreciation for this film. And, visually, that’s where the movies differ. Those who have seen X know that it took some inspiration from films like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Pearl doesn’t follow suit. This one has more of an etherial look and feel to it. It looks more like a classic Hollywood movie along the lines of The Wizard of Oz or A Star is Born. Yes, an odd comparison to be sure, but I feel it quite accurate. The AVC HD 2.39:1 encode evokes what we’d expect of the aforementioned films. Detail is spot on and if you’ve done or will do a double feature this will be the far “dreamier” looking of the two. Colors are bold and bright making for a very good-looking movie, though it wasn’t what I was expecting. Audio: How’s it sound?Plot: What’s it about? Video: How’s it look? Audio: How’s it sound? That would seem to point in the direction of another "historical" follow up delineating "the rest of Pearl is one of those movies that doesn’t really serve too big of a purpose. I’d liken it to El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie or Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. By that I mean that these films do shed some more light on the original source material. But there really was no reason to make an entire movie to fill a plot hole or explain something that really didn’t need explaining. That’s not to say that Pearl doesn’t have it own merits – it does and with it being part of a trilogy, I suppose that this is a necessary step in the right direction. And while there is violence, don’t expect it to follow the same lines as X. You’ll have to wait for it and see how and why Pearl is the way she is in that film. It’s a nice, wild ride but I think I prefer X to this. Video: How’s it look? when he mentioned how a certain "entrepreneurial" zeal helped sparked the porn industry in the 1970s and in at least a tangential way, the whole I've today (29th) received a replacement BluRay from Disney USA. Took 10 days to get here, but's that probably because of the darn volcano.
