About this deal

The shrinking number of producers making the latest high-performance halogen bulbs has allowed us to also include HID gas discharge lamps in our annual test. A colour temperature of 3500K helps your eyes focus better for a more comfortable driving experience at night Like the Osram, these were a well-matched pair delivering a decent all-round result. These bulbs also topped the 150-metre mark in the distance test, although they were an average of two metres shy of their stablemate. A sound performance overall, but some way behind our winner. Fitted Phillips x-tream h7 lamps to Mondeo Titanium X as standard dipped beam lighting was poor. Phillips lamps are definitely brighter than standard though not convinced achieving the quoted 130%. Between Philips and Osram, which is better in terms of light throw, clarity during rains and reliability?

I bought these to replace the standard H7's on Astra J which seemed dim, they definitely provide a much brighter light. As the Xtreme Vision is a Halogen bulb, it uses Xenon gas to boost brightness without having to increase wattage or the kelvin Rating. This means you get more brightness without generating extra heat or sacrificing lifespan. Would I Recommend Phillips Xtreme Vision? Where the Philips RacingVision GT200 surpasses its predecessor, the RacingVision range, for light output, it does so at no cost to bulb lifespan. In fact, miraculously, where the RacingVision offered a bulb lifetime of up to 200 hours, the experts in Philips' engineering teams have endowed the new RacingVision GT200 range with an expected bulb lifespan of up to 250 hours. Given the enormous enhancements to light output already achieved, this extra lifespan is a definite bonus. Thankfully, Philips RacingVision GT200 is also fully tested and ECE-certified for road legal use on all public roads and highways.

Let's first take a look at the X-tremeVision Pro150. Taking over the reins from the massively popular X-tremeVision range of car headlight bulbs, this range carries on the X-tremeVision tradition of offering huge lighting improvements. Where the X-tremeVision offered improved light output up to 130% brighter than a standard halogen, the X-tremeVision Pro150 ups the ante, offering a remarkable extra 20% increase. As such, the X-tremeVision Pro150 offers an immense, Maximum Performance light, with an up to 150% increase in terms of brightness. There are no bad H4 bulbs here, but the RacingVision is our choice. For top D3S performance it has to be the Philips, and Ring is our standard choice. Don’t be tempted to save cash on unbranded alternatives. When it comes to brightness, Philips Xtreme Vision leaves quite an impression, though pricier options may outshine it. Using these headlight bulbs at night, I found they offered quality visibility over a remarkable distance. Blaupunkt no longer designs and manufactures their own products. It has witnessed the same fate as Westinghouse. It used to be very good, but the company no longer exists. The brand of blaupunkt, however, continues to exist in a licensing format. Meaning any company can pay a royalty to blaupunkt (now Aurelius AG) and stamp their name on their products. Most of these companies are Chinese no-name companies. That is why you see the quality of blaupunkt is no longer the same. I read around the forum and was informed the upgrade of bulbs just don't do magic at all in most cases. Also excess illumination will blind the road ahead. In a similar vein to the X-tremeVision Pro150, the RacingVision GT200 is another improved update on a previously existing Philips halogen car bulbs range: the Philips RacingVision. Much like its namesake, the Philips RacingVision GT200 is a Maximum Performance halogen headlight bulb, capable of achieving breathtaking amounts of light on the road. Amazingly, where the RacingVision already boasted a huge illumination increase (up to 150% brighter than standard), the RacingVision GT200 achieves a miraculous light up to 200% brighter than a standard halogen bulb. Few clarifications regarding Blaupunkt - Is no longer a German brand now and is no longer into any manufacturing compared to before. Someone has brought that trademark only. Right now, they are just an importer and source products from various locations like China etc and slap the brand name into it. Compared to this Osram and Philips have actually been manufacturing their own products with R&D and I would bank on them for quality anyday. I have had two Blaupunkt head units earlier with me and while I have no complaints about it, it isn't what it was before. Thats why products and offering is somewhat inconsistent, with new versions coming up and product portfolio growing randomly. None of it is their own R&D or production. As is evident from the picture, on a dark night, the Extreme Vision sufficiently illuminates the road ahead. The beams themselves could reach further, but the falling snow obstructs how much farther the X-treme vision extends.

Excellent delivery service and price from Car Bulbs Direct so 10/10 for service, will definately use again. Even among these, there are multiple confusing options. Philips Xtreme Vision G-Force mentions H1, H3, H4, H7, H11, HB3, HB4, HIR2. Which is the right one for Jazz ? Reason behind choosing this (for now): I too was looking for better halogens, but BHPian Behemoth advised that there wouldn't be significant improvement. Details here (Auto Lighting thread : Post all queries about automobile lighting here). Ideally read all communication between myself and Behemoth, starting from this point, to get the full perspective. I am still keen on halogens, but only during the monsoon seasons for now. The superior beam performance of the Philips X-tremeVision Pro150 headlamp helps you identify dangerous situations faster and stay in perfect control of your vehicle – whatever road conditions you're facing. Coming to the actual problem itself, please clarify if you have a double barrel headlight setup or a single one for both high and low beam. I have seen Jazz With both so not sure.Intention of this thread: I searched TBHP posts, but, wasn't clear with the information i got. I need advice from our knowledgeable members on: Ultimately, I have decided to upgrade all my bulbs to the Philips X-treme Vision variants, and they are fantastic! You can buy X-treme Vision bulbs in up to 100%, 130% or 150% more light. You may sacrifice longevity and bulb life, but the light output is incredible and covers more peripheral vision. This is the category of the bulb. It may be Max Vision or just a standard replacement or even off road etc. Philips may have taken both wins here, but it has not all been plain sailing because a poor sample, which failed to meet the minimum ECE light output, meant we did not rate the Xenon Vision. Phillips provides a two-year warranty, which is impressive for this price point. In contrast, most other bulbs only guarantee a one-year lifespan, ensuring you’ll get your money’s worth.
