About this deal

I also think cards like the Dominus cycle will double as great cards for the 99 if you decide not to make them into a commander. I’m excited to see how this set plays once it hits the table and players start experimenting with it. It’ll be pretty effective for you if you’re able to keep Ovika on the field. But that’s a big “if” in a multiplayer game with lots of chances for counterspells or removal. #31. Migloz, Maze Crusher Containment Grafter is one of those cards that’s quietly strong. It doesn’t seem like it’s all that, but every time you cast it, you realize how good it is. Geth’s Summons I’m not sad that the card is gated so that triggers only once per turn. While I know some games need to finish and I’m good with playing Blood Artist to that end, it’s also okay to have something a little less threatening. We’re still going to dish out some life loss and gain some, too. Red While Prava of the Steel Legion isn’t the best commander on its own, it doesn’t have to be. There are some good pairings that help you take advantage of Prava’s abilities thanks to partner. One of the most popular pairings is with Ikra Shidiqui, the Usurper since these two can gain you a lot of life together. #22. Chiss-Goria, Forge Tyrant

Ria Ivor, Bane of Bladehold has some pretty interesting synergy with its own abilities. It can create a decent number of tokens, and then buff them all up. Ixhel - Taste THIS Poison Paradise Ixhel - Taste THIS Poison Paradise Ixhel - Taste THIS Poison Paradise A four-mana Reanimate from our own graveyard is pretty standard. It’s the corrupted clause that makes the card compelling: for each opponent with three or more poison counters, we can Reanimate something of theirs, too. It makes the argument for spreading around the poison instead of focusing fire on one person. Glimmer Lens As soon as I saw the Abzan cost, my eyebrow lifted. It doesn’t really do any of the Abzan things that I get excited about (which generally involve the graveyard), but I want to give it a fair shake. A 2/5 with flying, vigilance, and toxic 2 seems decent. Then it has a Gonti, Lord of Luxury-like triggered ability for each corrupted player. You also have access to any spell in the game that can help with this strategy since Urtet is a 5-color commander. There are also plenty of myr that tap for mana both colorless and of each color. #16. Venser, Corpse Puppet

I think it’s easy to get tied up on the triggered ability, but I’m staring right at the 4/4 for three mana with trample and toxic 1. Reanimator strategies are a staple part of the Commander ecosystem, and Geth may just be one of the most effective Legendary creatures ever printed for that archetype. His low mana cost and solid stats are a great start, but his activated ability is the real meat here, letting you reanimate any creature from your graveyard for just three mana. So, what does Phyrexia: All Will Be One have to add into the pot? There are a few options — the flashiest being Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines, which works wonders with all your enters-the-battlefield creatures. If I’m creating token copies of every one of my creatures that dies, there has to be some kind of tomfoolery that I can do with Mondrak. And if those tokens are going away at some point, they can just serve to put more indestructible counters on Mondrak. Vishgraz is also in a great color combination for token support, so it’ll work well with cards like Carrion Call and Phyrexian Swarmlord. #17. Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch

There’s something to be said forthe Living Cure’s activated ability as a repeatable form of protection. Still, Melira will start to get prohibitively expensive as the game goes on if you’re regularly exiling it. #34. Adriana, Captain of the GuardSolphim, Mayhem Dominus may be the most powerful commander from the cycle. Its ability allows you to speed up games significantly, but Solphim also has the least restrictive cost for becoming indestructible. You just need to add ways to fill your own graveyard, like Buried Alive. #10. Unctus, Grand Metatect Embark on an unforgettable journey into the captivating world of Magic: The Gathering at Magic Madhouse, where the spellbinding saga of Magic: The Gathering Phyrexia: All Will Be One Commander eagerly awaits your discovery. Delve into an epic narrative of power, betrayal, and redemption as you traverse the perilous plane of New Phyrexia, pledging your allegiance and guiding your forces towards triumph. After our heroes revisit the past in The Brothers’ War, their attention must turn to the growing threat in front of them with Phyrexia: All Will Be One—and they won’t all make it out unscathed—or unchanged. But he’s not alone, of course. Jawbone Duelist is in here, as Double Strike wears buffs incredibly well — and its power against players is effectively doubled since you only need ten poison counters to win. Toxic isn’t like infect, so the buffs don’t affect how many poison counters an opponent gets, but the double strike still means that each hit gives a counter.

The card that keeps on giving, Contaminant Grafter lets us proliferate if any of our creatures hit (only once per combat, no matter how many creatures hit how many players). It has trample and toxic 1, so there are going to be things to proliferate. But the card isn’t done. At the beginning of our end step, if an opponent has three or more poison counters, we can draw a card and then put a land—any land—onto the battlefield (which doesn’t have to be the one we drew).

All Will Be One’s commanders are interesting from a flavor standpoint because a lot of legendary creatures are characters we previously saw on our last trip to the plane in New Phyrexia. Heroic characters like Venser and Slobad have now been corrupted, adding to the horror of Phyrexia. It’s clear that even a heroic sacrifice won’t spare characters from being compleated and used as weapons against their old friends.
