Genocidal Call to Basically Get Rid of All Jews’: Professors, Students Lead Antisemitism Explosion October 31, 2023 I have read some other stuff on deliverance and am still studying it gradually – all be it in a slightly wary way. There does seem to be some variation in details of the ‘how to do it’ and when and why you do it – oh yes and where to do – it if a place seems to need deliverance rather than a person. Yes, if you’ve heard those old stories of haunted places needing a visit by a priest to clear out a ghost or similar creepy spiritual problem it seems some people are still practising this kind of deliverance – usually calling it exorcism – from what I can gather. If you are not keen on knowing about spirits -- specifically demonic spirits -- do not read this book as it dives into various types of spirits, how they operate, how to speak to them and so forth. This is a book for those seeking to either 1) know the basic of deliverance ministry or 2) want to actively move as a deliverance minister. Unbelievers aren't prepared to receive deliverance: Colossians 2:13-15 shows us how Jesus forgave our sins, and thereby disarmed the demonic spirits in our lives. In the life of a non-believer, there is no disarming of the demons, because there is no forgiveness of sins. As I talk about what can be controversial topics regarding demons and the spirit realm even in Christian circles, it comes with hesitation and concern that some may be offended. That is not my intention at all as I write. I can only tell you what I experienced and what God has shown me during the last 4-5 years. When I told a friend my concerns, he reminded me that “we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.” (Revelations 12:11) I needed to hear that. All of this is part of my testimony and I need not be ashamed. Because of His blood and the testimony He’s given me through this, I HAVE overcome.

The question is, with all the advances in medical and psychological sciences, should the Christian church still be teaching Jesus followers to do the same thing? Do demons exist? Is what we read in the New Testament simply an ancient uneducated way of seeing the world, which we have overcome by medical and other advances that have been made since Biblical times? The doctrine that Christians are no longer subject to demonic activity can lead to one or the other of two unfortunate results. Either a believer may yield to demonic pressures with some comment like ‘ I can’t help myself; that’ just the way I am”. Or he may seek to suppress the pressures within, and in so doing expend much spiritual energy that could have been used for more positive purposes. a b Kenneth D. Boa and Robert M. Bowman, Jr., Sense and Nonsense about Angels and Demons, Zondervan, 2007, p. 130. I wish I could say that I have experienced all the mighty miracles that He did when He was on earth, but I can’t. Just like you, I am a work in progress; growing stronger in the grace, knowledge and power of Jesus Christ, going from glory to glory. Wherever you are in your journey, be hopeful, not discouraged. He desires for us to know who we are in Him, His power that is there for the taking — never in condemnation, only out of love for us. Receive it, grow in it, be ready to have Him take you to places you never thought possible. No matter what, as I’ve learned with Him, the journey is all worth it.I had no idea about Jesus being the most powerful in creation and I didn't know he is the saviour, and I didnt know this book was a christian book. I just thought they liked quotes from the Bible. The first argument to be considered is this one: ‘Christians can’t have a demon ‘in them’ because they have the Holy Spirit in them. You can’t have both in a person at the same time’. I read some of ‘Pigs in the Parlour’ as a young Christian many years ago. At the time I simply dismissed it as over the top and I felt that the authors were twisting scripture to get their point across. I also had some ‘amateurs’ try casting demons out of me at the time and I was thoroughly put off the whole idea of looking for demons.

The book pigs in the palor has hardly any Biblical basis. It is more or less a fabrication of the author’s own delusions. I am quite familiar with Scripture and what it says about dealing with evil spirits and this book couldn’t be more off base!!! People who buy into this book on a hook-line-sinker basis should seriously reconsider their understanding of Scripture and the life of Christ! This book contains a wealth of practical information for the person interested in, planning to engage in, or actively engaged in the ministry of deliverance. As this world gets crazier and more evil, my prayer is that we tap into, that we fully embrace, all that Jesus has given us to fight, to endure, to stand firm, and to be a warrior that He can send out for battle. I pray you reflect on His Word and His promises and how it can be lived out through you and your circumstances. Through all that I’ve learned from books like Pigs in the Parlor, friends like Jeannette, and other resources throughout this season, my faith and confidence in Him has grown exponentially. I’ve been stretched in more ways than I ever could imagine, yet I’m truly thankful and actually do consider it all joy. I’m so grateful too, that my kids were able to see this at a young age so that they can be better equipped for the battles that lie ahead for them — and as we know, there will be many. Jesus gave a legion of demons permission… Demons knew who Jesus was, they knew His power and knew that they didn’t have a fighting chance against Him no matter how many there were. They knew He had authority over them and that they had to ask Him for permission to come and go. As I continued reading this book, I pondered on some things. Jesus said that He must go to be with the Father and that He would give us the Holy Spirit who would never leave us. (John 14:16) The Holy Spirit, our Helper, is to guide us into all truth (John 16:13) and with Him, we will do even greater things than Jesus did when He was on this earth (John 14:12.) Jesus gave the disciples the authority to cast out demons. When He sent them out two by two, (Mark 3:15) He gave them the power to tread on serpents and over all power of the enemy. (Luke 10:19) What did this mean? Did this actually pertain to me? If Jesus has authority over the demons and all the power of the enemy, and He says that He has given me that same authority, then wouldn’t that mean that I have the power to cast out demons, to have power over the enemy, to do the things He did? At the same time I thought, “When would I ever even have to do something like that anyway?” Little did I know what lay ahead… This was amazing. I loved the teaching and scriptures. This is a great book for those looking to learn more about spiritual warfare, demons, and deliverance. The charts were so helpful. The experiences that Frank and Ida shared were so relatable.I personally think the authors Ida and Frank had covered the most essential areas in deliverance ministry. Overall this book does end up giving rather a different sheen on the Christian faith to your average Church of England experience of preaching and teaching. Frank Davis Hammond (Oct. 12, 1921 - March 17, 2005) was an author of Christian related books, particularly on deliverance ministry. In 1980 Hammond founded 'The Children's Bread Ministry' with his wife (and sometimes coauthor) Ida Mae Hammond. Hammond was an alumnus of Baylor University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

I do not recommend this book. Although it contains elements of truth, it contains many elements of error, some of which led me astray into foolish and unbiblical deliverance theology and practice when I read the book in 1973.First, about half the items were off the menu. It was a Sunday evening so I guess that was excusable but it was disappointing. I will say this cover is absolutely gorgeous and should be something akin to animal farm but alas it’s not.
