It would be an understatement to say Steven Winkelman is obsessed with mobile technology. Since joining PCMag as a mobile analyst in 2019, he’s reviewed over 100 phones and tablets. Before that he covered mobile and wearable tech as a staff writer at Digital Trends. Google's new Calling Assistance features for 1-800 numbers—which includes a hold time estimate called Wait Time, and another feature called Direct My Call, which displays automated prompts on the display—were hit or miss. We tested the features with nearly a dozen different companies and it worked about two-thirds of the time. Two Cameras, Many Possibilities The camera bar has a 50MP primary sensor and a 12MP ultrawide lens Of course, for non-exclusive features there are now plenty of other phones with Android 12 too, but the Pixel 6 is sure to get Android 13 on day one as well, so it will maintain its software lead over most rivals. The Pixel 6 Pro has Google’s first custom Tensor processor, which performs similarly to other top-flight Android chips from Samsung and Qualcomm in benchmarks and general use. The custom elements, however, are designed to speed up and reduce power consumption when running Google’s various AI elements. The phone was the first to launch with Android 12 out of the box, and there are plenty of new features to discover. Most of these upgrades are incremental or not too noticeable, but some are huge.

There’s more nuance in the color and shadows, along with more true-to-life temperature that reflects real conditions. Like last year, the Pixel 6 has a dual rear camera setup, although this now consists of a 50MP main camera that captures 150% more light than before and a 12MP ultrawide camera. Note that the sensor on the main camera is a whopping 1/1.3in in size (bigger than the iPhone 13 Pro Max’s main camera sensor) and has pixels that are 1.2um wide. The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are the first phones to ship with the Google Tensor SoC. Designed by Google specifically for the Pixel lineup, its processors, coprocessors, instruction sets, and other software are all in harmony to create a heterogeneous computing experience. There’s no optical zoom available here then, as there is on the Pro model, but the Pixel 6’s ‘Super Res Zoom’ does deliver a 7x digital zoom. A 4,614mAh battery powers the Pixel 6. In our early battery drain tests, where we stream HD video over Wi-Fi at full brightness, the phone averaged 23 hours and 11 minutes before shutting down. During a week of regular use, we only needed to charge the phone twice and didn't notice any battery depletion when there wasn't any use. The Pixel 6 supports 30W fast charging via USB-PD 3.0 and compatible third-party adapters. Qi wireless charging maxes out at 12W, but the upcoming Pixel Stand 2 supports fast charging at up to 21W. The phone also features reverse power-sharing capabilities. Sub-6GHz 5G or the Full 5G Experience?

It's worth noting that you can only get this color with 128GB of storage, and that it will only be available in limited quantities. Google Pixel 6 Pro colors So if you want Google’s top phone in a shade that stands out, this is the one to go for. It could probably even give the Pixel 6’s shades a run for their money, but it's another one that's only available with 128GB of storage, and it's also only available in limited quantities. Besides, the Google Pixel 6 256 GB 8 GB runs Android v12 operating system and houses a decent 4614 mAh battery that lets you use it for hours on end while watching movies, listening to songs, playing games and doing other stuff without worrying about charging it frequently.. Google didn't disclose the Pixel 6’s modem at its launch event, nor when we asked for additional details about it. After some research with Sascha Segan, PCMag's lead mobile analyst, we're confident the phone uses Samsung's Exynos 5123 modem. The Pixel 6 Pro is the best phone Google has ever made. Whether that will be enough for it to be a hit remains to be seen. The mobile paves the way for crystal clear visuals as it comes with a 6.4 inches (16.26 cm) display that has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 Pixels..
