I also left the shampoo on longer than the recommended 5 minutes to see if it made a difference to the end result. Love the smell. When I put it on my hair and left it for 5 mins like it said. When I washed it off my hair felt really soft. Unlike some shampoos as it makes my hair feel knotted. After using this product regularly for nearly 2 weeks I have noticed huge difference: hair looks much brighter, lighter, very shiny, yellow tones are toned down and blonde tones refreshed. So this shampoo really does exactly what it says. Plus hair smells delicious and is easy to brush. I’ve been interested in trying the Touch of Silver range for a while but have always assumed that it was only for grey, silver or very pale blonde hair. I do have blonde hair but it does have mostly golden tones. I had hoped that this would tone down the reddish, brassy tones in my hair and give me a more neutral, ashy shade. How? Well, over time, lightened sections of brunette hair can turn brassy and the colour fades. This can occur especially in balayage or ombre hair, or if the hair has been dyed multiple times before. The hair can often become dry and damaged and reveal the underlying pigments which are warmer and more yellow/orange in hue. Of course, some people will like this tone, however, if you don’t, purple shampoo on brunette hair can be your saviour to take out any unwanted warm tones in your hair. The secret’s out! Not a large amount needed. Very purple, and needed to wash your hands and nails after applying. Left on for the 5 minutes stated, and rinsed off.

When using this product the colour was deeper than most purple shampoos I have used, it didn’t go into a lather as much as I would like, the smell was okay not chemically but not particularly nice either.It didn’t stain my hands or my bathroom but it does state to be careful when using it. I did find it drying so I used plenty of conditioner and a leave in conditioner after to rehydrate and protect my hair but I have dry curly hair anyway. Again not much difference and very subtle.
