About this deal

Green Tea has be one of my favorite beverages since I discovered it over 15 years ago. Like most people, I’d go for the brands you typically find in the supermarket such as Twining’s, Clippers, or Tetley. And there’s nothing particularly bad about them, they taste fine! At least until you try pure matcha green tea from PureChimp. I also created this blog as a resource for people who are interested in starting a vegan diet and to stay healthy while on it.

The tea will get foamy once it is ready to consume. That’s the right time to pour it into a cup to drink. So recently I was browsing around and saw this Matcha Green Tea from PureChimp (interesting name, I thought…) Anyway, I went ahead and bought it as it was fairly cheap relative to other ceremonial grade teas. Due to a brief harvest season, select growing regions, and the effort it takes to cultivate and grind green tea leaves, matcha powder is pricey, especially compared to coffee and tea. The price point has a high floor, and if you come across a brand selling ceremonial matcha far below other competitors it should raise some eyebrows regarding the quality. However, Chamberlain Coffee manages to sell its ceremonial matcha powder in the lowest average price tier without sacrificing quality. It doesn't have the rich umami flavor of high-end matcha powders, but it has a balance of sweetness and earthiness, and it blends well.

This organic option from Natural Bio is one of the best choices for cooking and baking. It's a great one to blend into cakes, smoothies and desserts, with a delicate flavour that isn’t too sweet and will add that signature green colour to your creations!

Hi there! I'm Matt, 38 years old, and I've been blogging since 2006 to help educate people about nutrition, health, and longevity. I've been on CR for 18 years to slow aging, I became vegetarian in 2007, and then changed to a vegan diet in 2012. PureChimp matcha green tea has a very pleasant and savory taste while being mildly sweet and gentle on the taste buds.Classic grade matcha is probably the most commonly found, especially in the UK. It has a relatively strong and distinct flavour, but it is a little bitter, making it versatile for use in both drinking and cooking. I am a repeat customer as purechimp in my opinion has the best quality matcha available for a good price (I've tried many brands-!). Quality product and amazing customer service very caring and understanding when my product didn’t arrive. I cant get enough of this Matcha powder it is a good quality product and I’ve been using this for months. I have one cup a day and I also add it into my Greek yogurt with a little honey and it tastes great.

Having a cup of green tea in the morning has become somewhat of a ritual for me over the years but I started to use products that had flavoring in them such as lemon, ginger, or jasmine. However, with the matcha tea, I prefer it natural and untainted with any other flavors. I’m enjoying the product so much and they have a great policy to give 5% of the profits to charity to help chimps. This green-hued delicacy from Japan has migrated across the seas and taken over the UK. Hailed as one of the best superfoods that money can buy, the list of benefits from ingesting matcha is long, to say the least. Whizz it up in a smoothie, incorporate it into your baking recipes, or drink it straight up as a latte, iced latte or green tea. There are multiple ways you can add matcha to your diet. Matcha is a type of green tea that's easy to identify because it comes in powder form. Unlike most teas where the leaves are steeped in water and removed before drinking, with matcha you actually ingest a ground form of the leaf itself. It often has a rich umami flavor, but other tasting notes can include sweetness, bitterness, grassiness, earthiness, nuttiness, and more. Matcha is highly versatile and can be used for drinking purposes as well as a cooking ingredient. Accordingly, matcha is sorted into one of two categories: ceremonial grade and culinary grade. The former is best for tea and lattes, while the latter is better for recipes and baked goods. I have tried lots of different matcha teas, and (in my opinion, obviously) PureChimp is one of, if not *THE*, very best one I have found.Yes, Purechimp matcha is both organic and ethically sourced from a Japanese supplier. The company prides itself on using only the finest shade-grown tea leaves from sustainable tea plantations. This ensures that the matcha is free from harmful chemicals and pesticides and produced with utmost respect for the environment. Due to the fact that it is grown in the shade, matcha should retain most of the bright green colour found in the tea leaves. If you come across a matcha powder with a much subtler colour, like a dull yellowish-green or even a brownish-green, it is a good indication of a lower-quality product.
