About this deal

Setting up the R1280DBs is about as straightforward as it gets: just connect the power cord to a wall outlet, use the bundled cable to connect the right speaker to the left, plug in the speakers via your desired input, and that's about it. I used the R1280DBs with my desktop PC for the last three months, and I used the optical port. The range of connectivity options makes the R1280DBs incredibly versatile, and that's not counting Bluetooth. OPTICAL AND COAXIAL INPUTS - Digital inputs to enable lossless connection to most TV and computers. The drivers consist of one 4-inch (102mm) paper-cone woofer and one 13mm silk-dome tweeter. So, there are no particularly exotic and rigid materials used for either driver, but that’s as would be expected for the price of these speakers. The grille itself is attached by plastic pins that press-fit into holes on the front of the speaker. I'm not an industry professional, just someone who is passionate about hi-fi. I'm also a physicist and so I'm fairly technical but I certainly don't claim to be any kind of expert so what you are getting here is simply a layman's opinion - although I'm fussy in the extreme about my music and home cinema!

The Edifier R1280DB offers a fully-featured set of inputs, making it one of the best bookshelf speakers you’ll find. It features two RCA inputs for Line 1 and Line 2 input connections. The speakers also allow you to make lossless connections using either the optical or coaxial input. We especially loved that they are easy to set up, and they look good with most living room setups. BLUETOOTH WIRELESS - Popular classic bookshelf speakers now can be enjoyed without the hassle of wires. Simply connection to an iPhone, Android, Tablet, PC or Mac. Adjust the EQ using the on-board controls located on the active/powered Bluetooth speaker. Treble, bass, and volume knobs located on the side panel. The clear accessibility to on-board controls and modern functionality heighten the amiability of the R1280BD powered Bluetooth speakers. Clear and concise controls compliment the manual providing uninterrupted playtime. R1280DB Instant Classic Redesigned - Edifier Canada R1280DB Bluetooth Powered Bookshelf Speakers – Edifier Canada First off, these 1280DB speakers deliver a truly satisfying and enjoyable listening experience. The bass sounds natural, the low mids are rich and punchy, the highs are sharp, and most importantly, the mids are lucid and detailed.Overall, whether you do feel the need to tweak the EQ a little, the key thing is that these speakers have the range to provide the option. It’s this versatility that makes them so appealing. My opinion is that the R1850DB is the optimum price / performance compromise here, but you would not go wrong with whichever of this trio you went for.

When you compare this to most of the other speaker system monitors out there, there’s really no competition. Edifier has given all-around changes on the new R1280DB, and it will also perfectly surpass the former as an introductory artifact. The launch of Edifier R1280DB speaker is more like Edifier showing years of design experience and technology precipitation to people. There are a few choices available if you're looking for powered bookshelf speakers with Bluetooth connectivity. Neumi's BS5P has similar connectivity options — including Bluetooth — and it puts out more powerful sound (75W vs 42W). You miss out on the ability to connect an external subwoofer, but other than that, it is a good alternative. While there are other monitors with more intuitive tuning options, the Edifier R1280DB doesn’t leave you empty-handed. Despite the fact that monitor tuning on an entry-level speaker is simply not in the cards most of the time, the R1280DB comes equipped with some basic levels of adjustment. Unlike the traditional tweeters used in most cheap speakers, the Edifier R1280DBs use high-grade silk dome tweeters to add a life-like tone to the higher frequencies. These tweeters are also capable of playing more accurately with less distortion. Moreover, the tweeters provide a wider high-frequency range, which gives you an extensive sweet spot to work with. Supports Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless connectivity

Released: 17th June 2021. The R1280DB has the classic look you love with all new features of modern powered Bluetooth speakers. The clean wooden finish of the R1280DB bookshelf speakers leave a lasting impression of elegance and luxury. The upgraded specs accommodate a standard of professionalism while improving quality and performance. The naturally fine-tuned Bluetooth bookshelf speaker is enjoyable in just about any setting enhancing the style of your domestic living space. When compared to its amazing sound quality, beautiful design, innovative tuning features, and full-range frequency response, all while in a compact 4-inch space, citing a couple of add-ons as anything more than add-ons becomes kind of silly. He relocated to Croatia from Ibiza six years ago but has continued his industry involvement whilst living on the electronic music party Island of Pag. It is entirely different in terms of details, artistry, appearance, and, most importantly, sound quality.

Edifier make models with and without digital inputs. The …DB at the end of the model name stands for Digital plus Bluetooth. My recommendation is definitely to go for these additional digital inputs. They add slightly to the cost, but they massively increase the flexibility of the speakers. I have used all of the digital and analogue inputs and they all work flawlessly. Pairing with streaming devices is hassle-free, plus the speakers are unfussy about placement. However, the Bluetooth connection is not compatible with aptX, which offers more high-quality audio than standard Bluetooth. On-board controls Also on the right speaker are the volume, bass and treble controls. The latter two are standard analogue dials that sit in a middle position by default and turn 120 degrees to the right or left. Meanwhile, the volume control is of the infinite-spin, notched variety. This means you can adjust volume on the speaker and via the remote without one overriding the other. In fact, not only are there very few entry-level monitors that can stand in the same room as the R1280DB, but only the high-end monitors objectively beat it in terms of overall quality. The Highs & Mids And, while you’ll need either a subwoofer or a larger speaker if you want to really blast your music, for the vast majority of people – either casually or professionally – this is going to be plenty loud in closed settings. This becomes an even bigger issue when you’re first starting on your music-producing journey. It’s one thing to be a successful producer that can afford a top-of-the-line studio setup and brand-new monitors. The R1280DBs has a compact design for bookshelf speakers, making it ideally suited for use in a desktop setting. It doesn't look too big next to my 27-inch Xiaomi gaming monitor, and the Niffler seems to like it, so that's something. In terms of design, Edifier R1280DB 2.0CH speaker continues the steady and straightforward classic style. The wooden cabinet remains unchanged, looking quite inherited. Bottom line, I am hugely impressed with the S1000DB! Again, it is a step up from the R1850DB. However, it doesn't make the R1850DB sound bad in any way by comparison – I can wholeheartedly recommend both of these models. The S1000DB is a gorgeous speaker in terms of its looks, real wood (I believe) finish, and top-notch sound quality. Crystal clear treble, massive and controlled bass, this active speaker is on a par with a much more expensive setup of separate amp and speakers – and much tidier and unobtrusive for smaller spaces. I have it plugged into the TV and a satellite receiver in the kitchen where I can also listen to satellite radio, which is amazing quality sound. Coming to the performance, I was pleasantly surprised with how good the R1280DBs sounded. It delivers a full sound with a lot of detail and character, with plenty of definition with the mids and highs and a controlled low-end. It does a good job with vocals and dialogues as well, producing good timber and clarity.

Make sure your speaker is switched to Bluetooth mode. Disconnect any other devices from your speakers And what makes that sense all the more palpable is the fact that it never goes over the top or excessive. Rather, it comes across as something you’d find in some refined gentleman’s home. R1280DB fully considers user needs and shows us the profound design experience and technical precipitation of Edifier. If you’re after a significant upgrade in power for your TV or PC monitor speakers, the Edifier R1280DB are a great option. They deliver Hi-Fi-like levels of power and warmth, all without the hassle of any extra equipment, and for a bargain price. Dexter also specializes in managing and growing digital marketing platforms for leading international DJs, event brands, and venues. R1280DB’s high-frequency penetration is perfect, and the resolution is vital. Although the sound position will not be prominent at the front, it can make us feel its existence.
