I've loved collecting emulators for the past few years and this one so far is the best I've come across. It feels premium with that metal body and build quality. The 351elec firmware takes it to the next level. This is the best handheld in my collection so far.

Skyline is no longer in development so for now you get what you see. Don’t expect any new updates to come to fix issues or improve compatibility for this device. The device comes with Android 12 preinstalled including emulators for some systems. It works, but is not very polished in detail.God Of War pushes the console to its limit for sure, you’ll find the odd frame drop now and then, but it’s still thoroughly enjoyable, so being honest its not a handheld i would just dump the best PS2 games onto without testing them or going in with the mindset that it might not perform well, it’s best to see PS2 as a bonus.

So after looking at a few variations and different companies who make these i decided to take the plunge and its so worth the money! If you are playing smaller, less intensive games you could drastically increase this time, which is very impressive. I’m actually going to be comparing the RG405M against the RG353M for the purposes of this review, only because they do have a lot in common, but as you will read, the RG405M is also quite a step up from the RG353M. The RG405M is capable of emulating some PS2 games but don’t expect to be able to emulate everything. You’ll really need to test and tinker with the settings on an individual game level to get the most out of PS2 emulation on the RG405M. To make emulation a tiny bit easier, I recommend that you use PAL (European) versions of games as they only need to emulate up to 50fps at full speed. If you are on GammaOS, you will boot into a recovery screen, use the volume down button to navigate to the Enter Fastboot menu selection, press the power button once.

When you finally stop staring at this thing’s beauty and turn it on you will be greeted with a pre-built Android OS, which should have all of the emulators installed for you, ready to go. One major upgrade I did notice that I wasn’t expecting was the battery life, throughout my review process I would easily pull around 6 hours of life out of one charge and that’s when playing some pretty demanding games. Unfortunately the previously mentioned issues with the R2 and L2 button presses does present as an issue making the streaming experience less than optimal as the trigger functions will be unusable.

v1.3.2) Update controller configuration, now emulating an Xbox One S Wireless controller via bluetooth. Fixes compatibility with games such as COD, Diablo and Geforce Now. v1.3) Toggle between performance modes by holding down R3+L1+R1. Options are: Max Performance (everything set to max frequency, uses the most battery life), Normal Performance (scales frequency according to load), Power Save (lowers all frequencies to minimum for max battery life, useful for GBA and below). Recommend enabling threaded video in RetroArch for Power Save mode, or change emulators to less demanding ones. v1.1) Update RetroArch/Daijisho - for fresh installs/factory reset only. Change default SNES RetroArch core to Snes9x Current to overcome bug with controls not working when launching from Daijisho. Open the EraseUserData.bat script, it will begin factory resetting your device in preperation for GammaOS. This step can take up to 10 minutes so be patient. When the script is complete, the command prompt window will close itself after 60 seconds.
