Description

Importing and selling non-compliant power banks is risky as it might cause severe injury or even death. Further, the European market surveillance authorities often conduct random inspections on power banks; which could result in heavy fines and force recall on your products – assuming you cannot provide valid and verifiable test reports and other CE documents. RoHS compliance starts at an early stage. You must inform your supplier of the RoHS requirements, therefore, they can only use RoHS compliant components for the manufacturing process. This should not be taken for granted, as the “default component” is not RoHS compliant. It’s possible to find those restricted substances in power banks, especially in paint, batteries, and other metallic parts. The level of restricted substances must not exceed a certain level. For example, the lead shall never exceed 1000 ppm (parts per million). EMC directive is also a CE Marking Directive. As such, you must carry the CE marking, and issue the DoC, user manual, and technical file for your power banks. Radio Equipment Directive (RED)

To know when your power bank is charged, you can look for a few signs. First, if your power bank has a light indicator, it will turn from red to green when it is finished charging. Second, if your power bank has a digital display, it will usually show the percentage of charge when it is finished. Third, if your power bank has a vibration feature, it will vibrate when it is fully charged. Lastly, if your power bank has an audible alarm, it will produce a beeping sound when it is charged. Power banks make our lives a bit easier by ensuring we never run out of juice. By using them properly, you’re not only protecting the power bank, but you’re also getting the most out of your investment! A properly cared-for power bank will get you through those long meetings and plane rides. Just think of all the adventures you’ll go on while still having peace of mind! A milliampere hour (mAh) is used to describe the energy a battery will hold. It also indicates how long a device will last before it needs to be recharged again. You should use a power bank that has more or equal milliampere hours to the device you’re charging. The Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive regulates the interferences that your products may have with other electrical and electronic equipment. The EMC Directive applies to products such as power banks that generate electromagnetic disturbance. Some power banks take longer to charge because larger batteries have a bigger capacity to store energy. For example, a high capacity power bank with 20,000 mAh can take up to 40 hours to charge fully. Smaller power banks with 4,000 mAh may only take a couple hours to charge. The DoC is a legal document issued and signed by the importer or the manufacturer. The DoC is required for all CE marked products including power banks. You need to issue your DoC with the information below: Green/blue/yellow hard case mobile portable power bank charger with 4400mah/4000mah for iphone, digital camera custom made You should avoid charging your power bank overnight whenever possible. It is unlikely to cause significant damage, but there is still a chance it could reduce the lifespan of your battery over time. Similar to most of the testing for electronics products, the EMC test cost depends on the complexity of your products such as materials and components. EMC tests can cost from a few hundred to several thousand dollars.

RoHS is not an official compliance mark. It is commonly used to distinguish RoHS compliant components. It has no legal meaning by itself. You can also charge a power bank with a laptop or computer. The USB cord is connected to the power bank by connecting the smaller end of the USB cord. The larger end of the USB cord should then be plugged into your computer’s or laptop’s USB port. When charging a power bank, a wall charger takes less time than a USB power bank.
