The thing to bear in mind is that laptops are not always upgradable - sometimes RAM is soldered to the board so this is something to be aware of as well. https://www.currys.co.uk/products/hp-14sdq2514sa-14-laptop-intel-core-i7-512-gb-ssd-silver-10222235.html That said, the sRGB level isn’t quite good enough for pro-grade workloads, and it couldn’t handle the Adobe RGB and DCI-P3 colour gamuts. The peak brightness of 395 nits is good enough for indoor use, but not bright enough for bright sunlight. I'd say the guidance to go for i5, i7, Ryzen 5 or Ryzen 7 still applies, or if you can afford them consider i9 and Ryzen 9 as well, If you have a few you're looking at, feel free to post links or specs here and we can give you a suggestion of which one to get. This seems like a good bet to my novice eyes: https://www.box.co.uk/S413EA-AM1887W-ASUS-VivoBook-14-Intel-Core-i5-16GB-RAM-_4089273.html?utm_source=criteo&utm_medium=display&utm_campaign=Web Conversion Nonetheless, for comparison, the cheaper Lenovo IdeaPad S340 and Honor MagicBook 14 recorded 14:26 and 10:43. These are the top two entries in our Can anyone help as the Mac was very expensive and FM is my favourite game, and to be put off playing it is a massive shame. Basically, if you're looking at laptops, you should look ideally for 11th generation or newer i5 or i7, or 4th generation or newer Ryzen 5 or 7 CPU's for a decent performance and decent integrated graphics.

Spec-wise, this is fantastic although the look won't be for everyone as it is a little bit loud: https://www.box.co.uk/9S7-158352-295-MSI-Crosshair-15-Intel-Core-i9-16GB-RAM-_4103721.html HP 15s-fq2045na Laptop - Intel® Pentium® Gold with Microsoft 365 Personal 1 year subscription included - HP Store UK The VivoBook comes with a 50Wh battery, although Asus doesn’t give an estimate of how long it’s expected to last. To enable Performance Mode, please keep the laptop plugged in for the best performance, set the Windows power option as ASUS Recommended Mode, and select Performance Mode in the MyASUS software (or switch using the Fn + F hotkey combination).

Lenovo - albeit this link is to think pads but Lenovo in general https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/search?fq=&text=Thinkpad x1 extreme&rows=20&sort=relevance I use my laptop mainly for FM, but also browsing the net, placing bets, watching football and YouTube, etc. NO other gaming, at all. I'd go for this one: https://www.mediaworld.it/it/product/_hp-15s-fq5022nl-156-pollici-processore-intelr-coretm-i5-intel-iris-xe-16-gb-ssd-512-gb-182913.html Theoretical Wi-Fi 6 performance figures provided by Intel. Actual performance may vary in real-world situations. https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/p/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpadp/ThinkPad-P1-Gen-5-(16-inch-Intel)/21DC001QAUhttps://www.currys.co.uk/products/gigabyte-g5-kd-15.6-gaming-laptop-intel-core-i5-rtx-3060-512-gb-ssd-10239821.html https://www.lenovo.com/gb/en/p/laptops/ideapad/ideapad-gaming-laptops/ideapad-gaming-3-gen-7-(15-inch-amd)/82sbcto1wwgb1 The Asus Vivebook is a great Ultrabook, excelling at the basics with a well-built design, solid 1080p display and superb battery life. But while this laptop is certainly no slouch, there are faster alternatives – such as the Acer Swift 5 and Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 – available at similar price points.

Basically, I'd like to upgrade everything on the laptop, if possible, but if not, I want to upgrade whichever parts make FM run faster - and I'm still not completely sure what that is.This is the same spec if you find the look of the other one off-putting: https://www.box.co.uk/9S7-158314-065-MSI-Pulse-GL66-Intel-Core-i9-16GB-RAM-1_4103715.html Yep, it'll certainly play the game - but without knowing how much you're paying for it and exactly which CPU is in there it's hard to know if you're getting a good deal. Finally, the speakers here are nothing special. They’re fine for YouTube videos and casual music, but the mid-range is muddy and the bass is weak, so don’t rely on these for top-notch sound. Screen – A punchy, decent everyday display I meant to post this one: https://www.currys.co.uk/products/samsung-galaxy-book2-15.6-laptop-intel-core-i3-256-gb-ssd-silver-10237747.html

Asus VivoBook 14 X415 - idealo

If 14" is too small, I'd go for this: https://www.mwave.com.au/product/acer-nitro-5-gaming-laptop-156-165hz-qhd-i911900h-16gb-512gb-rtx3060-w11h-ac51638 Compatibility】 - Asus Chromebook C200M C200MA C202SA C300 C300M C300MA C300S C300SA D540SA D553MA E203 E203M E203N E203NA E402 E402BA E402BP E402M E402MA E402N E402NA E402S E402SA E403 E403N E403NA E403S E403SA E406SA E502MA E502NA E502SA F101B F102BA F200CA F200MA F202E F453MA F453SA F540LA F540SA F553MA F553SA F556U F556UA K541 K541SA K541U L402MA L402NA L402SA L403SA Q200E Q302L Q503U Q503UA S200 S200E S410UA S510 S510U S510UA T300L T300LA TP300 Asus Laptop Charger. so I'm looking at laptops for my kids as I'm tired of letting them use my laptop all the time when I want to be on FM! This 14" model will do a fine job though: https://www.currys.co.uk/products/lenovo-ideapad-3i-14-laptop-intel-core-i3-128-gb-ssd-blue-10224414.htmlThe Asus is a mid-range machine, so there are no surprises here: it has a 14in IPS display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. There’s not much real innovation here (unless you consider the fluorescent enter key to be!), with the VivoBook prioritising everyday usage. The 5600H is better. The 5825U is probably a thin and light laptop designed for portability - U being the clue - as it will be designed for lower TDP meaning during high intensity use it will stay at lower speeds to maintain battery - this is known as throttling. It’s also not great for outdoor visibility, as even at maximum brightness it was hard to make out in direct sunlight. We recorded just 250 nits on the highest setting, considerably down on many competitors. Thanks for the response and yeah agreed, not ideal not to have fans. Wonder if any other MB Air M1 users experience the same? Then at least I know it’s not just mine 😁
