Tuschman, Avi (16 June 2016). "How humans became human". The Washington Post . Retrieved 16 June 2016. I really enjoyed the first book, but I didn’t agree with the significance it assigned to fictions, and I was confused by the way the author was using the term. This book delved much deeper into the concept of fictions and successfully convinced me of their importance. I feel like I have a much better understanding of the concept than I did after the first book, which introduced the concept as something important without really explaining why. One hundred thousand years ago, at least six different species of humans inhabited Earth. Yet today there is only one—homo sapiens. What happened to the others? And what may happen to us? Michal Shavit, publishing director of imprint Jonathan Cape at Vintage, said: “Yuval Harari never ceases to amaze, inspire and entertain his readers and this new book in the Sapiens: A Graphic History series doesn’t disappoint. In this beautiful, illustrated edition, with its focus on the Agricultural Revolution, we are thrown into a world of technological innovation, societal upheaval and the unintended consequences that accompany such seismic change. A treasure for young and old alike.’Well yes, the book is heavy for a graphic novel, but considering what Sapiens was, this is perfect for those who want an insight into it without struggling through the intense content. Especially for those who aren't too crazy about nonfiction, this graphic novel will be a great way to know Harari's theories. Sapiens] has been one of the most spectacular publishing successes of the past decade. Killian Fox, Observer Payne, Tom (26 September 2014). "Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari, review: 'urgent questions' ". The Telegraph . Retrieved 29 October 2014. Sapiens: A Graphic History, Volume 2 - The Pillars of Civilization is a fascinating exploration of human social organisation, from the transition from nomadic to agricultural societies through to the struggle for gender and racial equality in the twenty-first century. One hundred thousand years ago, at least six different species of humans inhabited Earth. Yet today there is only one-homo sapiens. What happened to the others? And what may happen to us?

Sapiens: A Graphic History, Volume 1 - The Birth of Humankind

In 2020 Harari joined forces with renowned comics artists David Vandermeulen and Daniel Casanave, to create Sapiens: A Graphic History: a radical adaptation of the original Sapiens into a graphic novel series. This illustratedcollection casts Yuval Noah Harari in the role of guide, who takes the reader through the entire history of the human species, accompanied by a range of fictional characters and traveling through time, space and popular culture references. In case there's any household in the nation that doesn't yet own a copy of Yuval Noah Harari's zillion-selling Sapiens...there's now a zippy new digest of the book in comics form... An imaginative and prankish gallop through human prehistory. Spectator You can see in it almost as much historical and scientific information as in other sections, but it is how the story unfolds that really grabs you. You forget you are consuming scientific facts. It brings together two of the most important things in this book: succeeding in making Yuval's words more attractive and accessible to those who might not have engaged with them before now, and explaining lots of scientific and historical concepts while creating exciting stories and situations for the reader." It is not an easy job to take a nonfiction tome such as Sapiens and adapt it to a graphic version. So I must appreciate the efforts of the author, the storyboard artists, illustrators and editors who would have worked on this graphic version. They have done a fabulous job. Strawson, Galen (11 September 2014). "Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari – review". The Guardian . Retrieved 15 June 2016. Harari's out-of-the-box thinking is arguably his greatest strength... These theories are what moves history forward, and what makes the book so engaging for an astonishing number of people. Katherine Prentice, Glasgow Guardian

Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind - Wikipedia

Overall, I think I enjoyed this book even more than Sapiens primarily because of the illustrations and characters. To visualise the original content in this graphic version was a thrilling experience, and to do so along with Professor Saraswati was simply enthralling!
