About this deal

The Game Zeros are more or less the same headphones internally. While the slight improvement in sound is worth noting, it’s not much compared to the extra features and better build quality on these cans. Sennheiser Game Zero Overall

The dual TRS connection is intended for use with older laptops, desktop computers, and other systems that utilize two TRS ports for the microphone and headphones. Sennheiser has long been regarded as the top brand among headphone manufacturers. In addition to the already mentioned sound experience, Sennheiser promises the large group of gamers perfect noise filtering and a sophisticated design. However, Sennheiser remains true to itself and does not adapt to the striking design common in the gaming industry. So the headset “Game Zero” presents itself quite simple. Technical Data & Scope of Delivery Now to the weird part. You know how epic the dialogues in Mass Effect 3 are. The way Commander Shepard speaks has the conviction that will get you hyped up. When I used GAME ZERO during gameplay, voices sounded distant. After all, you are supposed to be hearing them from right in front of you for the sake of those fiery motivational speeches.A quibble I have with the mic is that it’s not detachable, so you have to be prepared to look like a newscaster when you’re not gaming. I understand that the Game Zero is primarily meant for gaming purposes, but it would’ve been great if the mic wasn’t so firmly affixed, strictly reserving the device for its major function. It’s also pretty large and very obvious, even when retracted. Had it been subtle, I probably could have considered using the headset elsewhere, but the way it is tightly bolted limits its utility to a great extent. Comfort doesn’t tell the same story, thankfully. The ear cups are very comfortable, with extra large plush velvet ear pads. The only downside to these is that they can get a little gummed up if you sweat a lot while gaming. On top, there’s plenty of padding to keep your head nice and comfortable, even during long gaming sessions.

I know that some headsetsusingimmersive equalizations will sometimes produce an odd, echoing effect with voices. Good thing most of them have software included,so you could tweak them to your liking. However, GAME ZERO has nosuchsoftware, so fixing them is hard. But don’t fret, though it is not as good as dedicated software, there are online third-party equalizers that you can utilize when you are playing on your PC. Microphone When I tested the GAME ZEROforgaming, Iexpected nothing short ofperfect performance given the manufacturer’s reputation.Theheadset performedwelloverall. However, while it exceeded in some areas, itkind ofperformedpoorlyin others. Let me explain. The mics also contribute to the similarity of these two headphones’ features. When not in use, you can easily swing the mic upward. When you raise the mic, a mute function is automatically triggered. Its experience in audio products is probably a good explanation. It’s a different and one that, as an audio guy, I prefer, but gamers may not. It’s certainly not the normal frequency response you’d expect out of a pair of gaming headphone and, while it’s not bad, it’s something that should be considered. Sennheiser Game One Overall Similarly, both pairs of headphones models come with interchangeable cables; a TRRS braided cable or two TRS cables. The TRRS connection is used with more modern laptops that feature a single integrated audio port that functions as both a microphone and headphones. It’s also useful if you’re using this headphone in conjunction with your phone.

I played a couple of FPS games on the headset and I don’t think I’ve enjoyed a gaming session this much in a while. Finely tuned to suit a mid-range, but capable enough to deliver a wide variety of ranges, the Game Zero is a splendid companion for shooting games. With its impressively extensive soundstage, I could hear every reload, gunshot and bomb blast with brilliant clarity and power. The sound of stepping on dried leaves or the water tap running sounded so real that it felt as if it’s all happening in the room I am in. The Game Zero came through with absolute precision; I could accurately pinpoint to where a certain sound is coming from. The Game Zero earns a wholehearted recommendation for competitive games, or single-player ones where dialogue plays a secondary role. If you’re mostly a role-playing game aficionado, though, you might have to invest in a device that handles voices better — and honestly, just about every headset on our Best Headsets list can do so. Music Performance The collapsible nature of Game Zero is quite impressive. With its swiveling earcups, you can almost flatten it. On the other hand, the Sennheiser Game One is not as flexible; you can only adjust the width of the headband by sliding the earcups in and out. The Game Zeros are slightly more expensive, but present mostly the same view as seen with the Game Ones. However, some upgrades in the build quality set these cans just a notch above. Design and BuildSennheiser compensated for the soundscape’s breadth by introducing a dip in Game One’s mid frequencies. This prevents the speech and other mid-frequency elements from sounding excessively narrow.

In terms of soundstage, the Game Zero has focused and directional sound. Some headphones leave the soundstage feeling clustered and it sounds as if the instruments aren’t given their own place within the stage. Upon listening to Nobody by Mitski, I realized that, on the Zero, every instrument has its very own defined place, as if a special slot is reserved just for it. The audio is clear, crisp and sharp and every little detail of the song is delivered on a separate layer. The precise sound that I experienced is expected of studio headphones and for a stereo headset to offer it is highly praise-worthy. By default, headphones are prone to damage or wear due to regular use. The base quality materials and metal components give the Game Zero enhanced durability when compared to the Game One. FOLDABLE - Foldable design featuring a volume control located on the right ear cup with two cables included for multi platform compatibilityAll materials are of high quality; there are no points of criticism regarding the workmanship. Despite the robust materials, the 300 gram headset is comparatively light. Sennheiser thus creates a good mixture of robustness, design and pleasant weight – the latter should be an advantage, especially when worn for long periods of time. In recent years, Sennheiser has moved into the audio space for gamers. The Game One and Game Zero headphones are two of the premiere models, offering flexibility across platforms, an adjustable microphone, and beautiful finish.
