Option 1: LP1 Meshed 0.8ohm Coil: Enjoy larger vapour and smoother, softer e-juice flavour - thanks to a wider heating area with the mesh coil design. Works best at 12W. There is not much leaking on this device, and the connection is pretty solid. It is not a magnetic connection, though. The pod connects to the battery via a small bump on the pod that connects to recesses inside the battery connection. That is a little odd because most pod mods have a magnetic connection. But it works, and that is the most important thing. There are no other features for the device other than the automatic power (smart coil detection) setting based on the resistance of the coil connected. It has a power range of 4 to 25W. The Smok Novo 4 Mini follows the exact design language of previous Novo devices. It looks, as you’d expect, like a miniature version of the Novo 4 just without a screen.
Next working day (Channel Islands, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland & Scottish Highlands is two-days) The only niggle I had so far was that the base is curved so the Novo 4 doesn’t stand upright, this made the photography a bit of a challenge and meant that you had to place it down on the panel which will likely scratch in time. With the airflow open you get a tight MTL draw that is really nice at any wattage as it’s warm but not hot. Closing down the airflow makes the vapor much hotter and I found it most enjoyable to turn down the wattage when vaping with the airflow like this. No matter how you set it, if you’re a MTL vaper, you’re going to like the draw. I need more coils. You sent me substitute coils.... I will buy more of the ones you sent. Which ones were they?To prevent leaking, these coils are fitted with 3 silicone o rings; 1 where the coil meets the hole that you draw from, 1 where the coil meets the bottom of the inside of the pod, and 1 where the coil meets the outside bottom of the pod. This setup seems to do a good job because even after 2 weeks of using the same coil I did not have any ejuice leak out from the pod. The dirty little secret of the industry is that most pod mods leak. As long as the connection is kept clean and as long as the leaking is not excessive, the pod mod should be fine. This device is not very bad when it comes to leaking. There is just a little bit of moisture on the connection, as stated above. The coils have 2 flat sides that match up with the bottom of the pod. This means that the coil only goes in a certain way so make sure that you insert it properly.
I didn’t think that the Novo X was worth upgrading for if you already owned the Novo 3, but the airflow adjustment on the Novo 4 does seem like it’s worth the upgrade. The Novo 4 gets you everything that was good on previous Novo devices (flavor, reliability, portability), but with the added ability of adjusting your draw to your liking. Mouth to lung vapers will like what it has to offer. Overall Smok did a good job with the Novo 4. Mist grew out of a passion for all things E Cigarette. We stumbled across this product in 2010 and were so amazed by the effectiveness of the device that we had to spread the word! You can vape the included DC coil anywhere from 12-25W but I liked it the most at 16W. It’s a good wattage level that I found to bring out the flavor of my ejuices while still being warm and strong enough to enjoy. The LP1 mesh coil is similar to the DC coil and honestly, I didn’t notice a big difference between the two. This coil is only rated as being best at 12W, no wattage range, so I kept it around 12W to prevent burning out the coil. The flavor is slightly less intense than the DC coil, probably due to the lowest wattage, but if you like a cooler vape it’s not bad. The flavor from these coils is even better than previous Novo’s and those pods were already very good. I mentioned earlier that I had no leaking but another important performance aspect for me is the draw activation performance. Thankfully I’ve had no issues, but faulty draw activation is something that can make a good device terrible in my eyes. The Novo 4 has well calibrated draw activation that works as it should; it isn’t difficult to activate and it doesn’t malfunction or fire by itself. There are some apparent differences between these devices. The first and most obvious difference is the size. Compared to its predecessors, the Smoke Novo 4 is huge. Still, it is not much bigger than the palm, so it is still comfortable to hold and convenient to transport.The Smok LP1 coils have been designed for MTL (Mouth To Lung) vaping and are compatible with the Smok Pozz Pro, the Smok Novo 4, and the Novo 4 Mini. The only problem with the screen is that it is not very bright. While it is ok indoors, it can be hard to read outside, especially on a really sunny day. Smok Novo 4 Pods Been using the .9 meshed in a Pozz, and the flavour's been damn good. The coil life's also been excellent considering I keep throwing fruit and dessert flavours in the pod and I've had no issues with leaks. The Pozz itself is more problematic (battery life) than these are.
For the first time, a Novo device does not use replaceable pods with built in coils. Instead for the Novo 4 it uses a 2ml pod that takes removable and replaceable coils. In the box you get one LP1 0.8Ω mesh coil that is best at 12W and one 0.8Ω LP1 DC coil that is also rated for 12-25W.To fill the pod, remove the plug covering the fill port. The fill port is on the side. Fill the pod and replace the plug, wiping away any spilled juice.
