About this deal

While the Seiko SARB033 and SARB035 have been discontinued, there’s no shortage of amazing versatile and well-finished dress watches, such as the Orient Star, or Tissot Visodate.

The watches in Seiko’s flagship collections don’t compare to the quality of Rolex timepieces—then again, they’re not really supposed to. The craftsmanship that goes into Grand Seiko watches, however, is perfectly capable of rivaling Rolex. The Orient Star Automatic lineup is an extremely underrated series of dress watches that hits all of the same notes that the SARB did, and maybe some even better. From the humble-yet-mighty 5 series all the way up to Grand Seiko timepieces, the range of Seiko’s prices is wide. Collectors will find plenty of modest and high-end options, but Seiko is a solid option overall for the casual watch-wearer looking for extreme quality at surprisingly approachable price points.

While no official statement has been given by Seiko on why the SARB033 & SARB035 were discontinued, there is quite a bit of speculation. Coming in slightly larger at 39.9mm, with less variety of finished surfaces, and without any lume whatsoever, it wears quite a bit visually larger, and more subdued than the SARB on the wrist.I do love my SNKL41, especially for the case shape. With the 45, the only thing that bothers me is the red second hand. Just that little details shifts it a bit too sport and less dress enough that I don't think it works. The full model number will have a J1, K1, P1, J2, K2 or P2 at the end. There may be multiple versions available and they may have different prices. The Seiko SARB033 and SARB035 are well-known for being watches that look and feel much more expensive than they really were. It even has 200m water resistance, yet another functional improvement over the SARB, making it even better for everyday wear. Quartz movement. Scratch-resistant case. Adequate water resistance. Standout 41-millimeter case. Gang’s all here. If you’re looking to make an impression with your watch as opposed to having it blend seamlessly into your wrist, this’ll do that and do it well.

I own both the SARB033 and the Star RE-AU0004B00B, and despite the fact that the SARB was known for its finish and attention to detail, side-by-side, the Orient Star’s level of finish is even more refined. What’s that? I can’t hear you over the coolness of my radio-controlled watch.” You, at the office or some party.** This is generally a very simple procedure. We can do this for you, or you can get the watch adjusted locally. Option 1. Specify your wrist measurement and we will adjust it before being sent If you’re reading this and you’re an actual pilot, I’m willing to bet your research process began years ago, and you’ve already got things pretty well sorted out. If you’re not a pilot but are drawn to the aesthetics and some of the features of that specific breed of a timepiece, this non-pilot pilot watch is for you. To most people, “Seiko” and “budget” are already synonymous with one another. And while the iconic brand does produce dozens of high-end timepieces at the top end of the price spectrum, the efficient construction behind Seiko’s mainstream collections results in largely affordable price points throughout its catalog.Seiko’s exclusive 7S26 calibre automatic movement powers this watch, it consists of 21 jewels and it offers an accuracy of -20/+40 seconds per day. This watch has a water resistance of 30 metres, meaning it should only be exposed to light splashes of water. Essentially a more affordable version of the SARB033, the SZSB012 takes all of the design queues of the SARB but cuts a few corners in its overall fit and finish to keep costs down. Also, I wouldn't let an article written on the other to influence my decision. Not sure why you mentioned it. Since the Seiko SARB033 and SARB035 have been discontinued, many watch collectors have continued to seek an alternative to this pair of extremely expensive-looking, once affordable, Japanese watches. Despite being an affordable watch, Seiko didn’t spare any expense when it comes to the finish of this piece, as its variety of brushed and polished surfaces on the case, paired with its unique, pinstripe dial, come together to form a beautifully executed dress watch.

First off, it has a slightly downgraded 4R35 movement. While not technically as good as the Seiko SARB’s 6R15 movement, the 4R35 movement has the upside of being more affordable, and common. This means it’ll likely be cheaper to have the watch serviced than its 6R15 counterpart. The first thing you’ll notice is the unique shape of the case, which is a sort of rounded rectangle. Further drawing the eye in is the stunning blue dial that keeps the vintage vibes coming. Under the hood, its mechanical automatic movement is going to last. And keep lasting. And last some more after that. If there is a SNKL45K1 or SNKL45P1 it is made elsewhere in Asia, does not say "Made in Japan" on the dial and is more likely to have Spanish as the second language for the day.The bracelet is made from stainless steel and it comes fashioned in a classic three-link oyster style. The simplistic design of the oyster is celebrated for its practicality as well as its elegance. A deployment clasp is used to fasten the bracelet around the wearer’s wrist. The Functions: While Seiko has seemed to have abandoned sub 40mm watches in most of their modern releases, the 37.5mm of the Seiko 5 SNKL45 and SNKL41 will get you roughly the same dimensions as the SARB when worn on the wrist.
