Mazepin was replaced by Kevin Magnussen, who took a stunning fifth-place finish on his return to Haas in Bahrain, and would later go on to score the team’s maiden pole position in Brazil. People talk about football managers being under pressure. Trust me, that's nothing. Pressure is watching one of your drivers hit a barrier at 190mph and exploding before your eyes...”

Guenther Steiner is one of motor racing’s biggest and most celebrated characters, known to millions for his show-stealing appearances on Netflix’s hugely popular fly on the wall series, Drive to Survive. Uncompromising and searingly honest, told in Steiner’s inimitable style, this is a fascinating and hugely entertaining account of the realities of running a Formula 1 team. While a suite of new regulations, which Haas sacrificed their 2021 season to prepare for, should have been their big focus, instead Steiner and co. were forced to navigate the fallout of a European nation invading its closest neighbour. Guenther is a charismatic no-nonsense kind of a guy and the icing on the cake is that he narrated this. If he did not then maybe I would not have enjoyed it as much. We’re all competitive people and every person who works for every team on the grid obviously wants their team to do well. OK, so we’re not likely to win many races anytime soon. In 2018, though, Haas, who were, and still are, the smallest team on the grid, scored ninety-three points and finished fifth in the Constructors’ Championship. That’s not bad for a team that was also only three years old at the time. We’re not stupid.A hugely entertaining access-all-areas account of a year inside Formula 1, from Haas F1 team principal Guenther Steiner, star of Drive to Survive, one of the most successful Netflix series of all time. There are plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, witty comments and rants galore. Just like Steiner is one of a kind , there's never been a book quite like this! Autosport The term “foking”, used frequently throughout, seems to have been partially invented as a result of the infamous “he does not fok smash my door” line from the Netflix series that has adorned many a T-shirt, but also as a way to avoid an uncomfortable question from the publisher as to why there was over 100 swear words within the book. For those afraid Steiner’s voice had been watered down though, fear not as there are plenty of s**ts to make up for it.

Steiner should also be praised for his honesty and truly does ‘tell it how it is’, as much as his current role allows. He is certainly not one to hide his emotions. A poor race weekend is met with a diary entry filled with foks and s**ts while a good race is filled with the same expletives but with a different meaning.Oddly enough, reminded me of my grandparents growing up in Deutschland. Very stern voice with sarcasm and directly to the point. Absolutely love his humor and style of speaking. Everything youve seen from Drive to Survive is present and the stories are amazing.

I have to pay tribute to Gene here because he could easily havetaken a different viewpoint and said, Fok this for a game of soldiers. A lot of people would have, I think. Especially with all the uncertainty that was still surrounding the sport. Even when we started racing again nobody knew how long it would last.Every day we were reading about [the pandemic] and so we were always looking over our shoulders. In Surviving to Drive, the Haas team principal takes readers inside his Formula 1 team for the entirety of the 2022 season, giving an unobstructed view of what really takes place behind the scenes. Through this unique lens, Guenther takes us on the thrilling rollercoaster of life at the heart of high stakes motor racing. Lifts the lid on life as a Formula One team principal. The book gives us honest, unfiltered Steiner. The Athletic Fearless and candid, Surviving to Drive reads like the night-time confessions of a football manager who is fighting to stay in the Premier League. A gleeful guide to a bonkers sport from a loveable rogue insider.” — The TimesPeople talk about football managers being under pressure. Trust me, that's nothing. A gleeful guide to a bonkers sport from a loveable rogue insider.' - The Times The book promises to be “uncompromising and searingly honest, told in Steiner’s inimitable style” and give fans a look at the inner-workings of an F1 team from the view of a team principal. Also def love the scenery changes with location and country. Every single time. For anyone currently getting into F1 this year like myself, this was a good book that gives you a bit more bavkground of just one teams head of operations and his journey to get there.

It’s the hard work of everyone on our team that has returned us to the fight in Formula 1 and I can’t thank everyone who’s a part of Haas F1 Team enough for their efforts and dedication. Guenther Steiner is one of motor racing's biggest and most celebrated characters, known to millions for his show-stealing appearances on Netflix's hugely popular fly on the wall series, Drive to Survive. But Steiner’s thoughts will now be available for fans to read in the new book, published by Transworld and due for release next April. Surviving to Drive’ provides an absorbing view into the world of Formula 1 for Haas fans and non-Haas fans alike, and the publishers must have rubbed their hands in glee when the many moments of chaos descended upon the Haas team in 2022.Having watched the Netflix series Drive to Survive this account provides an interesting dimension to the F1 sport It probably won’t surprise many people that I am starting my book with a swear word but all I can say is, thank fok that season is over! It’s been a nightmare from start to finish. I don’t drink very much but this year I’ve been tempted to take it up professionally. Whisky on a foking drip. That’s what I needed sometimes! Uncompromising and searingly honest, told in Steiner's inimitable style, this is a fascinating and hugely entertaining account of the realities of running a Formula 1 team. The new face of Formula One. The breakout star of Netflix's hit F1 series Drive to Survive. He is brutally honest. Sathnam Sanghera, The Times
