Deborah Pookie is always busy. Whether it’s her work, hobbies or family that are keeping her occupied she is constantly on the go. Deborah can turn her paw to almost any task, and loves to learn new skills. The only time you will ever see her stop and put her feet up is at the end of the day as she relaxes with a freshly brewed pot of bamboo tea. BABY TWINS CHICHI AND MIMI BAMBOO are starting to follow in their father's footsteps as being accident prone. Because they get so excited they are always running about crashing into table legs and chairs. Thankfully most of the delicate ornaments have been glued down by Alexandra, so nothing gets broken. Alexandra Bamboo likes helping everyone and does lots of charity work, raising money for good causes and important projects. School governor, village councillor, chairperson of the Women’s Union, any job, Alexandra is always ready to take it on! BABY SISTER LENA BAMBOO has arguably got the biggest smile you have ever seen. She's also got the most infectious giggle. Whenever she giggles (which is usually when she is meant to be quiet – like at Sylvanian weddings) everyone else starts to giggle too! That means she often gets her friends into trouble with serious grown ups who have forgotten how to giggle. Cali Robinson loves the seedless grapes her father grows for fruit salad. She often wonders how he manages to grow grapes without any seeds, after all, you need seeds to grow a vine in the first place! This problem has not put her off the grapes and she would eat them non-stop if she could.

Wilbur Robinson grows some of the best grapes in Sylvania on the sunny slopes, just south of the village. He grows many different varieties, some for the fruit bowl as well as some to make delightful red and white wines, but everyone’s favourite is the one he grows for his wife’s deliciously sweet grape juice. Clarice Bamboo absolutely adores horses and spends all her time at the stables, looking after them. One day she hopes to be a famous rider and show jumper.

BABY TWINS COCO AND SUGAR BAMBOO are probably the quietest members of their family (but that might be because they are the youngest!) They are always curled up in a corner sleeping, meaning they miss most of the commotion going on in their house. Angela Pookie loves music and will dance to absolutely anything. She has just started taking her first music lessons and loves band practice and music class at nursery school. Angela’s favourite instrument is the trumpet.

Fliss Robinson is the one who turns Wilbur’s juicy plump grapes, not only into excellent red and white wines, but she also creates a scrumptious grape juice, which can only be described as ‘the nectar of the gods’! Wilbur is always very cheerful and happy. He loves going on picnics with his family in the park. He makes the best sandwiches! SISTER CLARICE BAMBOO has only one thing on her mind. She simply adores horses. Indeed, it's rare to hear her talk about anything else. At the moment she's saving up for her very own saddle by working at the stables before school, after school, at the weekends and during the holidays. She doesn't mind the hard work – in fact, she loves it. ''Isn't it wonderful'', she says. ''I'm getting paid to do something I adore!'' Eventually she wants to be a top show jumper and win lots of gold medals. Frances is very active and loves playing sports. She especially likes playing soccer and is on her school’s team. Being a stay-at-home dad, Walter does everything for his children, and is always rushing around after his wife, Deborah, making sure that she has everything she needs too. Even though he’s only small, Tyler has started taking ballet lessons at the theatre in the village and can’t wait to be in his first show.
