When I moved over to a Fanatec CSL Elite, the difference in quality was really eye opening. I've recently just upgraded my based from the CSL to the CSW V2.5 (Not intrested in the DD wheels even though it's the same price 2nd hand). Because I tend to drive late 80's to early 90's F1 cars, I find having a heavy feel with my wheel just makes me enjoy the race that much more. Using belts is fine, but the Thrustmaster T-GT also has a slightly notchy turn feel that we were hoping too see smoothed-out in the upgrade from T300RS to T-GT. Fanatec’s CSL Elite’s turning is significantly smoother. Settings such as the steering linearity, brake gamma and gearshift debouncing aren’t anything you need to worry about unless you have an issue with your wheel or pedals in which the brake gamma might be adjusted. I have a sim rig with T300RS from 2016 + TH8A (x2 manual and sequential) + T3PA Pro + TM Addon and I am very satisfied.

However, you can change the overall strength if you are feeling too much or too little weight through the wheel. Some cars in ACC have a higher wheel weight than others, whilst some are lighter, so you may often change this if you are constantly swapping cars or struggling with weight. You can think of it as the equivalent to a screen resolution change if you like. A movie is not made better by being shown at 4K rather than 480p DVD quality, but the experience of watching it is still more enjoyable. A Thrustmaster T150 will indicate when your car is about to lose traction just like a T-GT, but the way this is relayed is subtler and more detailed. Now that you have all of the software required, you need to optimise your settings for ACC in the Thrustmaster Control Panel. After finding the control panel program through your Windows search tab – which falls under ‘Thrustmaster FFB Racing Wheel’ – you will be greeted with a small window called ‘Game Controllers’. Here, you should hit properties, which takes you to the main control panel which consists of three tabs, ‘Test Input’, ‘Test Forces’ and ‘Gain Settings’. It doesn’t feel altogether luxurious, though. The Logitech G27 uses a leather-topped wheel that gives a more serious feel than the Thrustmaster T300 RS’s rubber. Of course, much of that is forgotten once you’ve bedded into using it.
