Yellow was spun so each player has to play a yellow disc. The player who didn’t play a disc will take the three yellow discs that were played. A Question Mark means you have to predict a number (after hearing the title of the round) and score exactly that in the round or don’t move at all. Tension - The Top Ten Naming Game! A riotous race to call out possible solutions to a given subject... but only answers matching the 10 on the card will score! Fast and frustrating but fantastic fun for everyone! Great for involving different generations, this version includes cards that are appropriate for players as young as 8 years old. But with the latter, I think, you have EVERYTHING from that category to list from. In Tension, you could give a correct answer, but it might not be on the card.

The simple rules and wide subject matter make it a great choice for families, or a lightweight trivia starter to your game night. Tension truly is a hidden gem of a family quiz game. It’s consistently gripping from start to finish and keeps players engrossed throughout. Furthermore, the top 10 fun doesn’t have to stop with the base game, as there are multiple expansions that can be added for more list themed fun! Covering topics like foods, brands, clothing, inventors, films and sports, there’s a great breadth of topic to ponder over. Some serious and some more fun. What’s more is that the base game covers so many different topics, themes and genres that every player has their chance to show off a speciality subject whilst not having a clue in others. Endless Questions With the cards being double sided, it means it will take a while to work through all the cards. Some of ours were quite straight topics, but one of mine was ‘types of bed’ – and it wasn’t just furniture beds included. I totally missed out things like ‘sea bed’!

When it comes to getting the whole family involved in an entertaining activity, you can't beat board games. Get your hands on all-time classics such as Jenga, Monopoly and Cluedo and get the ball rolling on some fun family time. We even have junior versions of these games and an array of brain games to get your kids thinking and help sharpen their minds. Family board games In three and four player games each player takes two discs of each color. For a two player game each player takes four discs of each color. Tension is a naming game of classic proportions. The game includes loads of questions with 10 given answers to those questions. There may be more answers than are written in those 10 but only the 10 on the card count! It's always an excellent service with brilliant products at a very competitive price - will use again! If you’re a bit of a list fanatic, then you’ll enjoy this game. I think I’d be happy just reading through all the cards, but turning lists into a board game is a lot of fun. I can see how good it would be with a crowd of people. But it works for us as a twosome as well.

This great word mat features a variety of vocabulary that could help to create tension, suspense, and mystery. E.g. suddenly, distress, dread, unexpectedly, tremble. Brilliant for helping your children expand their vocabulary and create some truly gripping pieces of creative writing. Since the board does not have a space for all of the players’ discs one of the players will not be able to play one of their discs. This player will take all of the discs played by the other players. Winning the Game I still don’t think there are many direct replacements for this game. I guess the ideas been done right, so, you just update it year after year?

Tension is a game that has aged well, and in the simple rules there is a trivia gem. A game that can be enjoyed by all ages and doesn’t outstay it’s welcome. Each round begins with one of the players spinning the Spin-O-Matic in the middle of the gameboard. When it stops spinning it will rest on one color. The color that is showing is the color for that round. So there you have it. My top ten cents on Tension and why I wholeheartedly believe it deserves a place in everyone’s house. But I’d love to know if you’ve played Tension and enjoyed it just as much as I did. Did it make your top ten list? Feel free to let us know by using the @zatugames tag on any social media platform. It’s all a bit of fun and with teams playing and shouting out, it could get chaotic trying to keep score and hear all the answers shouted out.

I quite like games like this as an alternative to a ‘proper’ game in a long game day. There was often some kind of Lateral thought such as ‘Things that Fly’ had an answer of ‘Time’. Tension Update July 2019 The great game of Tension now comes in a family edition with cards graded according to difficulty, so that all members of the family can play, whatever the age - from 8 to 98!So what is the Board Game Tension? Tension really is a game of its name as the pressure of the one minute timer can make even the fullest brain empty of all its knowledge. Watching the other players flounder to think of any more ‘fruits’ is almost more fun than winning. If you are only playing with three players you will fill in one of the spaces for each color on the gameboard with one of the dark blue covers. So far, we’ve played it a couple of times, and it’s been a lot of fun. It’s longer than most of the games we play, but that means we can get really into it. Although I think N would like it a bit shorter. We could play it without the board, and just have a number of spaces to get to to win, rather than spiralling all round the board. How to play Tension board game

Being a pure speed game, Tension is a game that some people are going to be great at while others are going to be terrible. Since the game relies entirely on speed, the player(s) that are best at speed games are always going to win. Meanwhile players who struggle with these type of games are rarely if ever going to win. Unless all of the players are about equally skilled in speed games, this kind of leads to a boring game where one or two players are always going to win while the other players have no chance of winning. Can you handle the Tension? From '10 Ice Cream Flavours' to '10 Ed Sheeran songs'.. sounds simple but you have to get the exact 10 on the card You must be over 18, a resident of the country offering Afterpay, and meeting additional eligibility criteria to qualify. Late fees apply. Like a lot of these type of games where all of the players rush to do something at the same time, really aggressive players can ruin the game. There will regularly be two or more players trying to place a disc in the same space at the same time. This could lead to some minor injuries as players accidentally slap or scratch one another. With aggressive players things could get quite a bit worse.N really underestimated his ability to reach the target when he landed on that space. He did a lot better than he anticipated. You don’t lose out if you answer more, only if you answer less. The game suggests playing as two teams of two but can be just as easily played without the scoring board and team rules - just challenge each other and see who knows the most. You only get 1 minute to give as many answers as you can on a subject, therefore the questions are not the most difficult. words or less– teams have to guess the words on the card from you describing them in 25 words or less. At the end of the day Tension is just an extremely average game. There is nothing terribly wrong with the game but it also doesn’t really do anything original either. It is pretty much the most basic speed game that you could ever find. You can have some fun with the game but it is a game that hasn’t aged particularly well. The game is fine as a very basic speed game but there have been many better speed games created since Tension was released. Designers have found ways to improve on everything that Tension has to offer where I don’t know if it really pays to play what is now an inferior speed game. Tension is an example of a game that is past its prime. Should You Buy Tension?
