I quite like games like this as an alternative to a ‘proper’ game in a long game day.There was often some kind of Lateral thought such as ‘Things that Fly’ had an answer of ‘Time’. If you are only playing with three players you will fill in one of the spaces for each color on the gameboard with one of the dark blue covers. You don’t lose out if you answer more, only if you answer less. The game suggests playing as two teams of two but can be just as easily played without the scoring board and team rules - just challenge each other and see who knows the most. At the end of the day Tension is just an extremely average game. There is nothing terribly wrong with the game but it also doesn’t really do anything original either. It is pretty much the most basic speed game that you could ever find. You can have some fun with the game but it is a game that hasn’t aged particularly well. The game is fine as a very basic speed game but there have been many better speed games created since Tension was released. Designers have found ways to improve on everything that Tension has to offer where I don’t know if it really pays to play what is now an inferior speed game.
