About this deal

The investigation at the core of "The Last Goodbye" is a labyrinthine enigma, requiring readers to remain alert and astute at every turn. Weaver deftly introduces an array of characters, their identities often shrouded in secrecy and their names morphing in a dizzying dance of deception. Keeping up with these intricacies may prove challenging, but it is a testament to Weaver's skill that he maintains a sense of clarity amidst the complexity. Find sources: "Tim Weaver"author– news · newspapers · books · scholar · JSTOR ( October 2013) ( Learn how and when to remove this template message) While Raker travels far and wide in pursuit of Fiona, pulling in favours from some frankly reluctant sources and effectively putting himself in danger, Healy is trapped behind bars with plenty of time to ponder upon his current situation and how everything came to this pretty pass. As the walls start to close in, so does an overweening sense of danger – and when someone offers him a juicy get-out-of-jail card, he is sorely tempted to snatch it with both hands. But what if his freedom comes at too high a price?

Missing persons investigator David Raker is hired by Rebekah to find out if the letter is actually from her mother - and soon makes a connection to the Brenners. ONE DEVASTATING SECRET: At first, the two disappearances - decades apart - seem unrelated. But as Raker digs deeper, he starts to unravel an elaborate history of lies binding the cases together. Worse, there's someone terrifying hiding in the shadows - and they're hoping the truth never comes out....The Last Goodbye is the twelfth book in the David Raker series, but (in my opinion) it can easily be read as a standalone. There are two cameras inside the ride: one is about a minute in; the second one is right at the end, prior to the exit. Tom and Leo are recorded passing the first camera. Already under great risk due to his past actions, Raker’s latest investigations prove more dangerous than even he could ever envisage, as his search grid unwittingly begins to entwine with perhaps his most vicious foe ever. A relic of a monstrous regime, the poisonous point of a broken spear. Grips like a vice and twists like a rollercoaster. I mpossibly clever. Impossible to put down' CHRIS WHITAKER

While this story appears to carry on only a short while after the last one in the series, it’s not necessary to have read it or any of the previous books to read this.I do generally enjoy this ‘Missing’ series by the talented Tim Weaver and feel unlike some series’ every one can be read without reading any previous,in this book the basics of the past are mentioned to help new readers understand what has happened beforehand but tbh it holds it’s own as a good stand alone story Another thirty-two seconds pass and then the mother and her twins exit. One of the twins is crying. The mother tries to comfort them as they move out of shot. And with his closest ally under arrest and about to reveal some truths of his own, the danger to Raker is coming from all sides . . . And with his closest ally under arrest and about to reveal some truths of his own, the danger to Raker is coming from all sides... There are no end of awful female characters in Horowitz's books. They're snappy, and jealous, and spiteful, and cruel, and power-hungry, and arrogant. They also have glimpses of worry, love, courage, and can, if pushed, do the right thing in the end. These women aren't always the villains. Sometimes they're bitches just because bitchy women...exist.
