I don’t listen to their podcast, Office Ladies, because I just do not have that attention span but now I really want to. The behind the scenes information and facts were so entertaining to read and even the second to last chapter made me tear up. Like what? 😅🥲 It really felt like they were chatting to me through the book. This audiobook was so much fun! It's clear Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey are amazing friends and it was wonderful to hear how their relationship began, grew, stumbled, and flourished. I loved getting the behind the scenes details and insights into the show and characters. The little cameos from cast members and friends (the song from Creed!) were great and I especially loved the insight about the challenges of being a woman in Hollywood and then as a working mother. The chapter about walking the red carpet for the first time and the helpful tips was one of my favorites and had me laughing so hard. I haven't listened to the Office Ladies podcast, so the majority of the information shared was new to me. I imagine if you've listened to the podcast that this might be a bit repetitive, but fans of The Office will love this one.

An insider’s account of the rampant misconduct within the Trump administration, including the tumult surrounding the insurrection of Jan. 6, 2021. Did you know you can flag iffy content? Adjust limits for Violence & Scariness in your kid's entertainment guide. Get started CloseFischer and Kinsey, co-hosts of the Office Ladies podcast, are engaging storytellers, and their often hilarious escapades as best friends make this joint tale fascinating for even the most casual fan of The Office. The chapter about the “Death Bus” episode (directed by Bryan Cranston), which nearly killed the entire cast, is laugh-out-loud funny, and Kinsey sums it up appropriately: “Pie mends all things, including near carbon monoxide poisoning.” Mostly employing a dialogue format, the authors walk the line between a behind-the-scenes look at the landmark comedy and the desire to maintain the secrets they share with their friends. (That said, many readers would love to hear the R-rated “master class in 1980s Hollywood gossip” that the authors learned from James Spader.) For hardcore Office fans, Fischer provides personal insight into some of her—and the show’s—most important scenes, including her wedding and what she said to Steve Carell in their final scene together before he left the show. Kinsey discusses the fascinating mechanics of hiding her pregnancy on screen and how she and Rainn Wilson (Dwight Schrute) navigated their first make-out scene. In addition to numerous insider insights about the creation and filming of the episodes, Fischer and Kinsey reveal much more about their friendship, their decision to launch their podcast—and a media company—together, as well as the struggles of being working mothers. Fischer writes about how she had to return to the show much faster than she wanted to after the birth of her son because, “in our business, there is no paid maternity leave.” Ultimately, the authors manage to make everyone feel like they are also one of their BFFs. How do the characters on The Office demonstrate self-control and teamwork? Why are these important character strengths?

The Office BFFs by Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey | Waterstones

Appropriately subtitled “Tales of The Office from Two Best Friends Who Were There,” Jenna and Angela recount landing their roles of Pam and Angela, the start of the show, funny stories from filming throughout the show, and its well-done, emotional finale. ⁣ The biggest question when it comes to this book is should you read it or listen to the audiobook. I did both! (Thank you library!)The selling point for me was the collection of pictures that accompany these stories (putting faces with names). Be warned, however, the pictures (at least in the Kindle version of the book) are all credited (“Courtesy of Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey” over and over) but NONE of them are captioned. You have to make assumptions about who is in the photo and when/why, etc. Doing this a few times seems fine but doing this hundreds of times is not fun. It was tedious. I’m familiar with the Who’s Who of actors, writers, sometimes directors but I don’t know which guy is the boom operator or the props creator. It would be so nice to have a caption that reads something like “Pictured left to right: John Doe, Joe Schmoe on the first day of filming!”. The following conversation is excerpted from The Office BFFs: Tales of The Office from Two Best Friends Who Were There by Jenna Fischer (who played Pam Beasley) and Angela Kinsey (who played Angela Martin).

Jenna and Angela share insights about some of the most popular episodes, such as Diversity Days, Halloween, Booze Cruise, Michael's Farewell, and several others. My wife and I absolutely love this show. We were scrolling through Netflix and stumbled across it, at first we were like "How can you make a 9 season show about an office" but we decided to watch the first episode. We literally ended up watching all 9 seasons in under 4 weeks. We loved it so much we have started to call each other Jim and Pam. If you are bored and can't find a show this is your answer. This Hardcover Edition of Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey's The Office BFFs: Tales of The Office from Two Best Friends Who Were There is autographed by Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey (Autograph Edition)Frequent jokes about sex and some sexual innuendo, but nothing overt. Occasional (but comical) blurred nudity. Some co-workers are involved in on-again, off-again physical relationships and/or interoffice affairs. So I was bound to love this book—and I did. I loved reading about the experience Jenna and Angela had while making it. I loved hearing about their relationships with the cast and crew. I felt like I was right there with them on the set—and in a very small way, a part of their amazing friendship. Each week Jenna and Angela will break down an episode of The Office and give exclusive behind the scene stories that only two people who were there, can tell you.

More of this content is slightly toned down here in the later seasons, but more (slightly more graphic) “Thats what she said” jokes are heard along with suggestive dialogue. Dwight also has a sex contract with Angela, where they sleep together on several occasions off-screen, but it is referenced heavily throughout. In one episode, Pam finds Angela naked in her car expecting Dwight. In another episode, PDA is discussed and Dwight reads of everyone who had sex in the workplace. Jim and Pam later come out of a closet suggesting they had sexual intercourse there. I would go into more detail, however there are just too many jokes in the series, but the most severe have been covered. JENNA FISCHER is best known for her portrayal of Pam Beesly on all nine seasons of The Office, for which she received an Emmy nomination in 2007. Currently, she writes, produces and co-hosts “Office Ladies” podcast with Angela Kinsey.
