Where it could’ve been better is just tightening things up a bit - especially at the end which seemed to drag on far longer than it needed to with no major payoff for doing so. Some have mentioned pacing, which I agree could have moved along more briskly, but then again, when I reframe it in the light of an old movie, it kinda works as is to build tension, so my jury is out on that. Overall, it was a great introduction for me to Candlish’s writing and definitely makes me want to read her other books. Nora - Nora's moved into the cottage near to Suzi, she has a devastating past she is desperate to keep secret. And a reason for why she is at that cottage. Kit is always arriving just as the boat pulls out-secure in the knowledge that his favorite seat will be waiting for him, secured by Jamie, who is always early. The Other Wife is full of lies, deceit, betrayal and lots and lots of secrets. Most, if not all, of the characters in this book, I disliked in the best way possible. I believe that Ms. McGowan’s goal was for the reader to find most of the characters abhorrent, and in my opinion, she achieved this goal.

Although slightly predictable, the twists were still done really well and suspense in this book was amazing, every scene felt so intense especially towards the end of the book. I had actually never heard of this book and only came across it by chance when I was looking at free ebooks on kindle unlimited, and it was a pleasant surprise!
