About this deal

Jenny is horrified when a woman is taken off the streets - that sort of thing never happens here. The crime is chillingly similar to that committed by her serial killer father... but she's not her father's daughter, is she? Now, what worked well. The writing was fine. The actual plot was okay. The story being told from both Jenny and Mark's points of view was really good. Although well written, I had a problem with seemingly bizarre interruptions within the text. For example, in a scene between two characters a new, unrelated voice would suddenly pop up speaking in first person narrative. Who is this person? What are they talking about? Maybe a formatting change would help to set these interchanges apart for the reader. Gently rolling the top down, I uncover more of the mutilated animal, its tail, ginger and striped, curled to the side of the guts. More or less intact, albeit bloody.

We’ll talk later,’ I say, smiling to reassure him. I need the next eight hours to come up with a suitable explanation – a reason why I’m feeling this way. One that doesn’t involve me telling him the truth. Chapter 4 JENNY Meet Jenny. Local vet. Add into the mix, her husband Mark.Put them together in a sleepy Devon village.I would say that this could be read as a standalone too but the extra knowledge from the previous book kept me rapidly reading to find out snippets of information that I remembered. Things start to unravel for Jenny, who is concerned that she will become chief suspect and have her past revealed.

This read focuses a lot on the human mind. Insecurities, indecisiveness, doubt, fear, betrayal- they’re all emotions portrayed amazingly. Even love. I liked that this read revolved around a person balancing work, family, parenting AND her social life. And to add onto that, enough family trauma to fill an ocean. Scroll down for more!

Jenny is the daughter of a serial killer. She is trying everything to make her past stay there, in the past. But someone is not letting her go. In addition to the increasingly tense situation is that a local woman, Olivia Edwards is missing and Jenny believes Mark once had an affair with her. And it’s because our alarms didn’t go off this morning, we’re running late and Daddy has to be in work by nine-thirty.’ I’m thankful Alfie has at least quietly climbed into his own booster seat and has secured his seatbelt without me having to ask or help. ‘Good boy, Alfie,’ I say, shooting Ella a ‘see – your six-year-old brother is better behaved than you’ glare. Welcome to my review of The Serial Killers Daughter by Alice Hunter. Having read and enjoyed the Serial Killers Wife I couldn’t wait to get to this one. Like the serial killer’s wife, the serial killer’s daughter was a little slow and underwhelming but still a good read. It was, what I term, an easy read. I finished it in 2 days. It was a pleasure to read. My list of preferred authors now gathering new names.
