It’s quite incredible when you think about it, that this book and many others like it are all written about a man who did not know how to read or write. The Prophet Muhammad is the most influential and loved human being to have ever walked the face of this earth. The things that he said and did over fourteen hundred years ago still impact the lives of billions around the world today. The beautiful thing about the life of Muhammad (PBUH) is that it’s filled with many lessons that we can apply to our own lives today. As you read through this book, you’ll reflect on your own life and how you can improve it and improve yourself.

I heard someone say you can't possibly understand the Quran without the context (makes sense), and The Simple Seerah offers just enough context to really help enrich the experience of reading the Quran. I found that knowing the history of the Prophet PBUH (through a very simplified version) not only enhanced my relationship with the Quran, but helped me understand who and why the Prophet PBUH is such an important figure. Alhamdulillah I have completed reading ‘The Simple Seerah’ - part 1. It was a gift from a dear friend. Subhanallah Ustadh Asim Khan and Mr. Toyris Miah has done a wonderful job in writing this book. It was very engaging and I admit I was constantly in tears and occasionally smirking at the Quraysh.So (O Prophet!) it is owing to the great mercy of Allâh that you are gentle towards them. Had you been harsh, hard-hearted, they would have certainly dispersed from around you; hence pardon them and ask protection for them, and consult them in matters (of administration), and when you are determined (after due consultation), put your trust in Allâh. Verily, Allâh loves those who put their trust in Him.” That is why this book is the best starting point ever, not only is it entertaining and sets up characters and scenes in a similar ways to classic novels, it is also lays a great foundation in learning the seerah. I was excited to be one of the volunteers reading advanced copies of this book before it was released, before having the opportunity to discuss themes and the structure of the book with Ustadh Asim Khan.

Most chapters end with a short lesson that reinforces the key message the chapter. This is a useful addition that encourages the reader to be firm in his or her faith and showcases the sacrifices and difficulties that come with being a believer. While Seerah Of Prophet Muhammad is a collection of tales concerning specific incidents in the prophet’s life. One of the easy reading , captivating and engrossing seerah books I have ever read. I mean would have loved it as a teenager, the audience it is actually aimed at. Nevertheless find it beautiful even as an adult! It's the book that you should definitely include in your seerah collection.

Allah SWT sent the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a teacher and guide for the word of God. Mustafa is the name Allah has given to our Prophet which means “the chosen one”. I have read books such as "The Sealed Nectar" and "When The Moon Split". But I would have to say this tops them all. It implies that we as Muslims say it with our mouths but do not demonstrate it by fully obeying him. Technically, developing a love for someone is impossible until you know her/him totally. Love without knowledge is ridiculous.
