About this deal

And by the time he finds out who I really am, it will be far too late. There’s only room for one happily-ever-after on this wedding day, and I’m determined to make it mine…

Now a USA Today bestselling author, Sue explores the darker side of life, writing psychological thrillers with big twists. At first I found Alice problematic, chaotic and unlikeable. But as the novel progressed, her erratic behaviour became understandable. Some of the twists we fairly predictable (I’m not sure if this was intentional) but I guessed some of them from the off. But some parts did have me on the edge of my seat and desperate to know more.As I take in the guests, I don’t recognise a single person or see any of my friends or family. It doesn’t matter, though, what matters is Nik – the handsome man waiting at the altar who loves me so much.

As usual from the beginning I was totally engrossed in the story. Alice’s life is a bit if a mess, she has recently broken up with her husband and is also carrying the weight of not being able to conceive, something she desperately wanted with Dan.Thank you Netgalley, Bookouture and author Sue Watson for this advanced copy. Available May 17, 2023. I really do enjoy a book by Sue Watson and this was no different. I got really into the book especially the ending and it worked really well. Loved all the twists The start was a bit slow but it got really going. The twists and turns kept on coming, and while I did guess one, this in no way detracted from the story. This would come to fruition after she turned her hand to writing full-time, producing work in a style that was personal to her. Creating stories about real characters, she would establish worlds and narrative that were both witty and inventive in equal measure. Exploring all manner of story, she would write for a large audience, giving readers what they wanted, whilst creating something that was wholly authentic to her. Currently living in Worcestershire with her family, she continues to write to this present day, with a lot more to come yet. When we first meet Alice her life is rapidly crumbling around her, and as the setting changes and the story unfolds, things really don't get any better. Alice is someone who is always chasing what she thinks will make her content and safe, but her obsessive nature-and frequent indulgence in one too many glasses of wine-aid her only in sinking deeper into the nefarious machinations of those around her.

Wow! … There were so many moments where I thought I had it figured out and then was left with my jaw on the floor.’ Goodreads reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thanks so much to Netgalley.co.uk and the author Sue Watson for an advanced copy of 'The Wedding Day' due to be released in May in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.The thing is, Alice left legal problems behind in the UK. She also left her sister very worried about her, always a protective mother hen to her. Alice is determined to prove that she can make her own decisions in life even if that means staying in picturesque Greece. Nik owns a bountiful vineyard and it does not take Alice long to imagine being married to Nik at the vineyard and living an entirely new life. I try to forget the urgent calls from my sister this morning, and how she doesn’t know I’m about to marry a man I have only known for a few months. His family seem a little off and he shuts down when I ask him about his past – but we’ve all got skeletons in the closet, right? It’s the day I’ve been dreaming about my whole life. As I glide down the flower-strewn aisle overlooking the Greek orange groves, in my pearl-encrusted ivory gown, I finally see my fiancé Nik . We look like the perfect couple, but not all fairy tales have happy endings… Overall, this was a fun reading experience with not so likeable characters (other than Alice's sister, Heather), psychological suspense, and a thrilling conclusion. I look forward to trying more of this author's books in the future! My Thoughts: I do love Watson’s books. She has a way of storytelling and plot delivering twists that just keeps you at the edge of your seat. I have enjoyed many of her books. The story is a slow burn with character building until about 40% in. Even though is was slow, the unreliable narrator kept the story moving in an intriguing manner. There were some parts where the past was intertwined with the present and it was hard to identify the who/when. At a very minimum, there should be a paragraph break. Another con for me was some plot holes, however it was very slight.
