Disclaimer: I was kindly gifted a copy of this book by @penguinbooksya and Usborne YA in exchange for an honest review. Have you seen the shortlist!? It’s incredible. I’m so honoured to be included alongside such amazing books. What’s the best thing about writing for young adults? I really felt like I was right alongside Paige and felt everything she felt. I got so angry at times, I wanted to smash things and I just found it so important in every way.

Some schools distribute yearbooks after the end of the school year—such as in July, at homecoming (US) in October, or at another designated time to include year-end activities. In some cases, yearbooks are mailed to the parents' homes of graduated seniors. Smith, Susan. "The Future of the Venerable Yearbook". cmreview.org. College Media Review . Retrieved 9 October 2015. One use is to record, highlight, and commemorate the past year of a school. The term also refers to a book of statistics or facts published annually. A yearbook often has an overarching theme that is present throughout the entire book.I loved this so much. Paige's father and mother just broke my heart, and I think every girl who has been through secondary school will relate so strongly to the mean girls. It was also interesting to have the main character be someone who (because of her home life) keeps her head down and desperately tries not to be noticed and not to stand out. Again, I think this is something a lot of YA would be able to relate to. What’s different about this box is it only shows 5 items at a time. Meaning you have a 20% chance to get one of the items 5 items you see in your box at any given time. In the blurb this book was decribed as The Perks of Being a Wallflower meets Mean Girls so being familiar and even liking both of these, I knew I had to read this as soon as it comes out.

After defeating Hades, Hercules and Megara are married and now live in a big castle-like house in the suburb of Thebes. When Meg finds Herc's old yearbook, he tries to hide it from her and gets Hermes to take it to Phil's island, so Meg goes to Phil's island to find out what's the big secret. Phil tells Meg about how Herc sank his island in " Hercules and the Bacchanal", Icarus and Cassandra (who are now a famous inventor and an oracle). Then Hercules finds Meg and tells her how he lost the sun to Hades in " Hercules and the Apollo Mission", his ex-girlfriend, Galatea whom he made out of clay in " Hercules and the Dream Date", and how he accidentally trashed the school while at his graduation. Hercules tells Meg that he didn't want her to see it because he thinks she'll think of him as a geeky loser instead of what he is now: a hero. But during a musical number, Meg explains that she loves him the same as she did in the movie. However, that doesn't stop Hercules from retrieving Meg's high school yearbook, discovering that she was a cheerleader with a funky hairdo and a member of a glee club. I love Holly Bourne, I think she is one of the best YA writers out there at the moment. Every new book I read by her is my favourite of hers. Season Two: " Hercules and the First Day of School"" • " Hercules and the Visit from Zeus" • " Hercules and the Driving Test" • " Hercules and the Parent's Weekend" • " Hercules and the Prometheus Affair" • " Hercules and the Hero of Athens" • " Hercules and the Caledonian Boar" • " Hercules and the Epic Adventure" • " Hercules and the Poseidon's Cup Adventure" • " Hercules and the Muse of Dance" • " Hercules and the Kids" • " Hercules and the Gorgon" • " Hercules and the Green-Eyed Monster"Sometimes members of a yearbook write editorial and journalistic content about life as a student, current events (local, national, and international), and other matters of interest to the peer group.

Holly Bourne worked as an editor and relationship advisor for a youth charity for six years before becoming a full-time author. Her bestselling YA fiction includes It Only Happens In the Movies, which was shortlisted for the YA Book Prize 2018, and the critically acclaimed Spinster Club series. Holly is an advocate for reducing the stigma around mental health problems and has a keen interest in women’s rights. She lives in Lewes.

The actors are both new and do a phenomenal job in this film, which is a story about how memories helped two people reconnect and get through a crisis together. The story is set in the early 2000s and they manage to set that time period really well, with the main characters in high school at the beginning and then again 4 years later. Several educational institutions and yearbook printing companies operate camps and summer sessions at which student yearbook personnel can learn or polish the skills they need in their work. [9] [10] [11] Distribution [ edit ] The story is about Paige who is a year 11 girl who is on the school newspaper. She is very shy, she has no friends and her older brother has just gone off to university. Paige is a really good watcher and she sees everything that happens. She sees how the kids are cruel to the weaker children and what they do. She hates it. She doesn’t want them to get away with it, so she keeps a record of everything she sees in notebooks which she keeps under her bed. But she never says a word because she is scared they will then turn on her.... Read Full Review Paige is the quiet one. The one you never really notice, but who notices everything. She knows all the secrets and lies you've told but never tells anyone. Not a word to the bullies in the classrooms, to her agressive father or her passive mother. But now, that's all going to change.
